NBA Betting Matchups: Busy Slate Across the Country

Nine Games on Deck in the NBA

Plenty of Non-Conference Action Coming Up

It’s an action-packed night of NBA ahead as we get a look at some unfamiliar faces with five non-conference games scheduled. Let’s dive into the NBA Betting Matchups for the upcoming games and see where we can spot some value for bettors.

The high-flying Atlanta Hawks travel to Dallas to take on an out-of-form Mavericks team looking to return to winning ways on their home floor.

The Mavs have won all four home meetings with the Hawks since the teams took part in the blockbuster draft day trade in 2018 that saw Luka Doncic and Trae Young switch places.

The Mavs opened as 3.5-point favorites for this one, but will be without Tim Hardaway Jr. Dorian Finney-Smith and Josh Green are both listed as questionable as they look to make their respective returns after missing some time.

The Hawks come in with a full bill of health and have rattled off four wins in their last eight outings. Despite both teams having below-average defensive metrics the early money has shown on the Under at 232.5 point total – a number that comfortably cashed in both meetings between these teams last season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers make the trip to Memphis to take on the hottest team in the NBA, but will have to tackle the task without Donovan Mitchell who is listed as doubtful with a groin strain.

The Grizzlies are currently 7.0-point favorites for this one, with the home side looking to score 120+ points for the eight straight game. Memphis will have their full rotation available and are unlikely to face any opposition in the market given how they’re playing at the moment.

Thunder, Nuggets Look to Roll at Home

The Denver Nuggets will play the second of a back-to-back on their home floor when they welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to town.

Minnesota were big winners earlier this month at home to Denver but may have to do this one shorthanded with Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards and Taurean Prince all listed as questionable. That’s a big reason why the NBA odds opened with the Nuggets opened as 8.5-point favorites despite the strong schedule disadvantage for them in this spot.

Denver is 7-1 against-the-spread (ATS) in their last eight home games, winning by an average margin of 13.7 points in the process.

‘Meanwhile, the OKC Thunder return home after a successful east coast road trip as they play host to the Indiana Pacers.’

The Thunder are 3.5-point favorites as the Pacers continue to struggle in the absence of Tyrese Haliburton. The Thunder are 5-3 straight up and ATS as home favorites this season, with an average winning margin of 5.6 points in those game.

Rounding off the Rest

The New York Knicks host the Washington Wizards a week after they escaped DC with a 112-108 win.

Washington will be hoping to get Bradley Beal back for this one, with the former All-NBA guard expected back this week. He’s currently listed as questionable with the Wizards sitting at +6.0 points across the board. They will get an offensive boost with Monte Morris on the floor after he missed the prior showdown between these two teams.

The Miami Heat travel to New Orleans to take on a depleted Pelicans teams trying to stay afloat in the absence of their all-Star duo. Brandon Ingram is still questionable for New Orleans, while the Heat are hopeful that Kyle Lowry and Caleb Martin can return to the rotations for them.

The Charlotte Hornets are road favorites for just the fourth time this season as they open -1.5 points against the Houston Rockets. The Hornets are 2-1 ATS in these spots this season while owning a +3.3 point advantage on over the closing line.

‘The LA Clippers will head to Utah to take on the Jazz as 7.0-point underdogs as they play their second game of a back-to-back.’

Paul George has already been ruled out for the Clippers and it’s expected that Kawhi Leonard will join him and John Wall on the sidelines for this one.

As good as Utah has been at home this season, they are just 4-9 ATS as a home favorite.

The LA Lakers will again cap off the night of basketball as they play host to the Sacramento Kings in a game that will certainly feature some hostility given how their last meeting ended.

The Kings opened as 3.5-point road favorites for this one and were 120-114 winners in this arena earlier in the season. Sacramento is averaging 129.3 points per game against LA this season and will look to lock up a season series win over their California rivals here.
