An Early Look At The 2024 NFL Free Agency
The 2024 NFL Free Agency Will Eventually be One to Remember!

Only four teams are remaining in the NFL Playoffs. Therefore, many teams are looking towards the future.
Every team in the NFL wants to get better, no matter the circumstance. Some teams believe they’re a player or two away from getting into the playoffs and making a run.
Other NFL teams are acknowledging the payroll and understand that they’ll need to shed some contracts to get younger and become more flexible.
This year, there are many exciting players in the Free Agent pool. We will guess where some of the top Free Agents will land. Here’s an early look at the 2024 NFL Free Agency.
Tee Higgins (WR)
Tee Higgins is likely the best wide receiver on the free agency board this year.
Despite a down year, Higgins added 42 catches for 656 yards and five touchdowns this NFL season. He also averaged 15.6 yards per catch this year.
It was the first season where Higgins didn’t earn at least 900 yards in his four-season career. But Higgins can use the excuse that Joe Burrow was hurt.
While Jake Browning played well in Burrow’s replacement, Burrow is highly regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. It probably took a toll on the Cincinnati offense.
Higgins also played in just 12 games this season himself, which didn’t help.
In 2020, he secured 67 catches for 908 yards. Then in 2021, in just 14 NFL games, Higgins added 74 catches for 1,091 yards. Finally, in 2022, he added another 1,000-yard season with 74 catches. He did this while being the No. 2 wide receiver to Ja’Marr Chase.
Higgins had plenty of drops and misplayed a lot of balls this season. But he still holds value to many teams.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the teams that should be interested. Trevor Lawrence played with Higgins at Clemson for two seasons. In those two seasons, Higgins added 2,103 receiving yards and helped Clemson earn a National Championship in that first year with Higgins and Lawrence together.

Kirk Cousins (QB)
It feels like the Minnesota Vikings are ready to move on from Kirk Cousins.
Cousins likely won’t be ready for the start of next season after an Achilles tear on his right leg. At 35 years old, the Vikings likely don’t want to deal with an aging veteran who just had a significant NFL injury.
That said, Cousins is still appealing to many teams in the NFL on a short-term contract.
Before the injury in 2023, Cousins had seven seasons with at least 4,000 yards passing. He’s got 270 career passing touchdowns and has completed 66.9% of his passes. That means that he’s added a completion twice every three throws, which is a very solid rate in the NFL.
If Cousins doesn’t stay in Minnesota, who would want him?
The front-runner would be Atlanta.
The Falcons didn’t have much success with Desmond Ridder at quarterback this season. They’ve got options now. Atlanta can sign Cousins and have Ridder backup Cousins or they can try and develop Ridder for next season.
It probably depends on who the Falcons bring in as head coach. If it’s Bill Belichick, the Falcons will likely want to bring in a veteran quarterback like Cousins instead of forcing Belichick to work with an underachieving young quarterback. For Belichick, it didn’t work with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. It also won’t work with Ridder.
But the Falcons can hope Ridder becomes what Jordan Love is now with multiple years behind Cousins.

Jaylon Johnson (CB)
Jaylon Johnson admitted that he didn’t want to be on the Bears earlier this season. But once the Bears found their mojo in the second half, Johnson change course and suggested that he doesn’t see himself with any other team.
Johnson added a career-high four interceptions and added 36 total tackles with 10 pass deflections this season. He’s currently due for a massive contract at just 24 years old.
With the Bears having two first-round picks and a lot of success in the second half, it’s likely that the Bears do what they can to retain Johnson.
Chicago doesn’t need Caleb Williams. They need Justin Fields. So if the Bears can trade the No. 1 pick for even more assets, the Bears will be in great shape. They’d be in line to contend in the NFC North and beyond. Therefore, they’ll pay up for Johnson with a long-term deal.
