Lamar Jackson is on his way to his second NFL MVP Award after this year is over.

But more importantly, Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are headed to the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs in M&T Bank Stadium.

This year, Jackson and the Ravens have taken the “one at a time” approach. So far, it’s worked well. The Ravens added a 34-10 victory over the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Playoffs game behind Jackson’s tremendous second half.

Although the game was tied at ten at halftime, the Ravens earned a 34-10 win against the Texans when the final whistle blew.

Jackson threw for just 152 yards and two touchdowns. However, he also ran 11 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns. He essentially accounted for 252 yards and added four touchdowns to move on into the top four of the NFL.

This is nothing new from Jackson. Jackson will likely win the MVP Award. Meanwhile, Only 11 players in NFL history have won the Super Bowl and MVP in the season.

The most recent player was Patrick Mahomes in 2022, and that’s who Jackson will duel it out with on Sunday for a chance at playing in this year’s Super Bowl.

The Ravens are currently favorites to beat the Chiefs on Sunday. However, the spread is only sitting at around 3 or 3.5. It’s expected to be a tight one. So if Lamar Jackson comes out slinging the ball around and helps the Ravens make the Super Bowl, the only accolade that would be missing is a Super Bowl. Baltimore’s Super Bowl odds are the second-highest of the four teams in the NFL playoff picture bracket.

He’d be one step closer to that dream with some big NFL scores in the next two weeks.

History suggests the Lamar Jackson player stats will be even more enhanced after the playoffs are over.

It was a Merry Christmas for Lamar Jackson and his Baltimore Ravens. They trounced the San Francisco 49ers and secured their top seed in the AFC.

A win against Miami this week means Baltimore will only need two playoff wins to make the Super Bowl. As such, the Ravens quarterback is now favored to win the MVP. But as good as this is, a Vince Lombardi Trophy will cement Lamar Jackson’s career stats.

Lamar Jackson Stats for 2023

Is Jackson Already a Hall of Famer?

In just six seasons in the NFL, the 26-year-old has already put together a Hall of Fame-worthy career. Check Lamar Jackson’s career stats.

He’s on his way to winning a second MVP on top of his rushing records and a minty 57-19 quarterback record. On top of that, he plays with a chip on his shoulder.

“You can’t just discredit us,” Jackson said in reply to ‘Pro Football Talk’s’ Mike Florio, who said San Francisco would “kick the *bleep* out of the Ravens”.

“We’re grown men, we’ve got to feed our families. He can have his opinion, but don’t be just talking like that. That’s disrespectful. That’s very disrespectful.”

Indeed, Jackson played with a vengeance on Monday as he completed 23 of his 35 attempts for 252 yards and two touchdowns.

He also added 45 yards on the ground as Baltimore won 33-19. But as impressive as Jackson’s NFL player stats were, it’s simply window dressing to what he and the Ravens need to do: win it all.

Jackson’s Current Stats

Jackson’s current quarterback stats are solid but far from the best. Other QBs like Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy have put up loftier numbers. But they have not done what Jackson has: win the high-profile matchups. And Baltimore is the NFL’s best team. So the star quarterback of the league’s alpha deserves to be the MVP frontrunner.

The True Test for Jackson Awaits

Jackson has stayed healthy amidst a growing list of injuries on his Ravens. Still, this will be seen as nothing more than an excuse if Baltimore is one-and-done in the playoffs again.

The Baltimore Ravens now have its best offense in the quarterback’s era. His 2023 numbers may just be a drop relative to Lamar Jackson’s career stats. But the Ravens are in the driver’s seat.

The soon-to-be two-time MVP has just one playoff victory in his career. This is a bit of a sore spot for him as he’s struggled to stay healthy.

Even all-time great Peyton Manning had a hard time capturing that elusive Super Bowl title. And now, he’s remembered as one of the five greatest QBs.

Just imagine how high Jackson will skyrocket to should he finally win that title. Only time will tell.
