NFL: New York Giants at Arizona Cardinals Betting Odds

G Men, Cards Have to Pick up Pieces After Week One Losses

The New York Giants (0-1) were annihilated (40-0) against the Dallas Cowboys as a 3-point home underdog. They now have to go on the road to face the Arizona Cardinals (0-1) who lost to the Washington Commanders (20-16) as a 7-point underdog.

Unlike New York, the Cardinals led 16-10 with just under 12 minutes to go in the fourth quarter but gave up 10 unanswered in the loss. NFL odds this week show New York as a 5.5 road favorite with a total of 40. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 pm ET / 1:05 pm PT on FOX. We start our Giants vs Cardinals betting odds preview with a deeper look at both teams.

Giants Offensive Line Embarrassed vs Cowboys

If the New York Giants continue to give up sacks in bunches, they can forget climbing to the top of their NFL division standings. Not only did the Giants give up seven sacks against Dallas, but it was clear that the Cowboys‘ speed and tenacity were superior about five minutes in.

There still are many questions to be answered, like what are the thoughts of Daniel Jones after Head Coach Brian Daboll failed to take out his starting QB in favor of backup Tyrod Taylor. It looked like Jones was being punished for his team’s poor play. From a betting perspective, New York failed to cover after a terrific 2022 that saw the team cover 13 of 17 NFL regular season games.

Some bettors may suggest that betting on New York on the road has become automatic with Giants hoping to improve on a 27-13 ATS road since 2018. In that span, no other team in the NFL has produced more profit (+12.04 units). The Saints are second with +11.73 units. We continue our Giants vs Cardinals betting odds preview with a look at the Cardinals.

Cardinals Still Learning to Win

Arizona didn’t fly back from Washington questioning their overall performance like the Giants, because they knew it was just a few mistakes that led to the road loss. They have so much to build on while New York must feel like they’re being asked to build a skyscraper with Lincoln Logs.

We’re not sure that joke went over well, but we are sure the Cardinals were solid on defense and special teams. We’re not sure if Joshua Dobbs is the long-term answer, actually, we are, but until they can get a legit quarterback or Kyler Murray comes back, you can count on the offense struggling.

As an underdog since 2019, Arizona is 35-30 ATS but most of that came on the road (22-10-2). At home, the Cardinals are just 26-37-1 ATS since 2015. If the Giants don’t take advantage as a 5.5-point favorite, you can bet they will start to get buried in the NFL team standings. We conclude our Giants vs Cardinals betting odds preview with our official selection.

Expect The Opposite In Week Two

We have always talked about the biggest improvement in the NFL, is between weeks one and two with this week being no exception. The Cardinals should have left DC with a win, while New York was doing less than giant things against Dallas.

Yet, the oddsmakers have made the New Yorkers, or New Jersey, a 5.5-point road favorite. Over 90% of the bettors agree with their money and 77% of the tickets have been written on the Giants. That pushed the number up from 4.5 to 5.5. We’re going to take our own advice and take the New York Giants and the over.

The NFL loves to leave bettors guessing but we know their week two tricks. That does it for our Giants vs Cardinals betting odds preview, we wish you the best with your wagers this weekend.
