The Las Vegas Raiders (6-8) head to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the division-leading Kansas City Chiefs (9-5). Kansas City is just 4-3 at home this NFL season, but they’ll face a Vegas team who is just 1-5 on the road. Let’s start our Raiders vs Chiefs NFL odds preview with a deeper look at Vegas.

We have KC as the sixth-best team in our latest power rating, while the Raiders are stuck in the 23rd spot.

Raiders Must Play A Perfect 60

There has been some talk that would suggest that the Raiders’ game stamina isn’t consistent enough to win consistently. Antonio Pierce talks about “keeping the foot on the gas” suggesting there is coasting on the part of the Raiders. There isn’t any better example of that than against the Chiefs.

Last season, Vegas held a 17-0 lead only to leak that lead away in a 1-point defeat. This year at home, Vegas owned another two-score lead and proceeded to lose, 31-17. The good news for Raiders bettors is if Las Vegas covers two of their last three games, they will break a six-year streak of finishing in the red. Since 2017, the Raiders are 50-60-3 against the number.

Quarterback Aidan O’Connell is not who head coach Josh McDaniel thought would be leading his team this season, but Jimmy Garoppolo is on the NFL injury list leaving O’Connell and Brian Hoyer to pick up the pieces. O’Connell has done an admirable job for the most part, helping Vegas to cover four covers in six starts.

We continue our Raiders vs Chiefs NFL odds preview by turning our attention to Kansas City.

Chiefs Continue To Have Raiders Number

We have shown examples of when the Las Vegas Raiders could have put some massive plus behind their moneyline bettors with wins but the truth remains, no other Vegas opponent has had more luck in cashing tickets than the Kansas City Chiefs.

Over the last 41 meetings, KC has won 30 of them, producing 5.26 units of moneyline profit. Against the spread, the Chiefs are 23-18 ATS against the Raiders since 2003, but just 3-3-1 in their last seven games. Those are numbers that indicate Las Vegas gives all it can to cover the spread but doesn’t have enough to win outright.

The difference is always Patrick Mahomes who constantly owns a spot among the NFL passing leaders while the Raiders struggle to find a signal caller they can lean on. KC’s Super Bowl odds are +700, the third choice behind the San Francisco 49ers (+200) and Baltimore Ravens (+550). We conclude our Raiders vs Chiefs NFL odds preview with our official selection.

We Still Remember

The Vegas Raiders put up 63 points on the Los Angeles Chargers so all has been forgiven for the goose egg that presented itself to the the city of Las Vegas in a home 6-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

It may have been forgiven but we can’t forget. The key to winning is to forget what you just saw but don’t ever think an NFL team changes their identity in a week.

Before the Los Angeles Chargers game, the Raiders averaged just 11.5 points per game in their previous four games. We still think this is who Vegas is and the Chiefs will send them back to being the inept offense that they truly are. Our official position on this match-up is to bet the under 41. Get on this number now because, with 75% of the money wagered on the under, there’s no guarantee that this total won’t go down further.
