From the ashes of what looked like a lost season, the Buffalo Bills have somehow fought to reach the No. 2 seed in the AFC heading into the playoff. Heading into Week 18, there was a scenario where the Bills wouldn’t even make the playoffs, but their win over the Miami Dolphins catapulted them to near the top of the NFL standings.
For years, the Bills have disappointed in the playoffs but something about this season feels different. Josh Allen’s play has been erratic as he finished second in the NFL with 18 interceptions but there’s no denying he’s been a great leader this season. This team could’ve easily fallen apart once NFL rumors and NFL news started coming out about head coach Sean McDermott possibly losing his job.
In Week 14, when the Bills were 7-6, Tony Romo predicted that they would win out and play a home playoff game…

The Bills were 6-6 at one point and it looked like a sinking ship. Instead, the team won their final five NFL games and are now in a position to have home-field advantage until the AFC Championship. I think the Baltimore Ravens are the best team in the NFL but the Bills are weird and sometimes the weird teams can get hot and win a Super Bowl.
The Bills should have an easy time taking out the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round but things could get interesting in Round 2. The Kansas City Chiefs have owned the Bills in the playoffs, having knocked them out in two of the last three seasons.

If both the Chiefs and the Bills win in the first round, they’ll be matchup up in the second round. That’s where the real test begins. Though the Chiefs kind of stink this year, they’re still dangerous as long as they have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Beating Kansas City could be the confidence booster the team needs to compete with the Ravens.
Lamar Jackson is the likely NFL MVP and the Ravens’ defense is elite so they’ll be really tough to beat. I still think Baltimore should be the favorites to win the Super Bowl but this might be the best chance the Bills have had in a long time. There are no true powerhouses in the NFL this season.
Whether or not the Bills can win it all this year could come down to Allen. He’s been so inconsistent this season but his highs are about as high as any quarterback in the NFL. If he can keep the turnovers down, the Bills have a real chance.
