FK TSC Stats & History
István Benis founded TSC in Backa Topola, Serbia, which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, in 1913. They were called Topolyai Sport Club in the early days. The town belonged back then to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After World War I, Backa became part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, which was organized into Yugoslavia in 1929. In 1930, they changed their name into Jugoslovenski Atletski Klub. The current stadium, TSC Arena, was built in the 1930s.
During World War II, the club played in the Hungarian Second League and came in second place in 1942. After WWII, the Backa region once again became part of Yugoslavia and the club was called Egység. Then, in 1951, the club changed its name again to Topola. These seasons in the FK TSC team stats were spent in the lower leagues.
In 1974, the club changed their name once again. Now FK AIK Bačka Topola, they earned promotion to the Yugoslav Second League in 1980. They stayed in the second tier for most of the 1980s and qualified for the quarterfinals of the 1992-93 Yugoslavian Cup.
21st Century
In 2003, the club suffered financial difficulties and their professional team folded. Two years later, they merged with FK Bajša and the clubs started competing under the FK Bačka Topola name.
In 2013, they once again changed their name to FK TSC Bačka Topola. In 2015, TSC won the Bačka League and returned to the third tier, kicking off a wave of success.
Despite finishing in third place in the 2016–17 Serbian League Vojvodina, they earned promotion to the second tier Serbian First League. The first-ever top tier season in the FK TSC team stats was in 2019-20. They won their first-ever Serbian Super Liga match away at FK Vozdovac. Under coach Zoltan Sabo, they finished 4th in their first SuperLiga season and made the Europa League first qualifying round.
They managed their best-ever top flight season in the TSC team stats in 2022-23, when they finished second in the league. FK TSC advanced to the 2023-24 Champions League third qualifying round but lost 7-1 to SC Braga on aggregate. Even with the loss, they secured a first-ever Europa League group stage berth.
Betting advice notes that FK TSC have still never won a major trophy. Their rapid rise to prominence is impressive, but they’re in a brutal Europa League group with West Ham, Olympiacos and Freiburg. Don’t expect FK TSC to be favored by the Europa League odds for any of their matches.
