Within 24 hours of the announcement, 5,000 ticket deposits were made, indicating the high demand for the event. The 2022 edition of the race became the first sellout crowd in the history of the track.
In response to the overwhelming response, owner Curtis Francois stated that $40 million would be invested in upgrading the track. Some of the planned improvements include extending SAFER (Steel and Foam Energy Reduction) barriers, constructing infield camping sites, and remodeling the concessions. These upgrades are expected to be completed by 2025.
