Anything can happen in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Final second leg but as of right now, Fiorentina holds a one-goal advantage over Atalanta. The Viola won the first leg 1-0 at home but Atalanta will be gunning for a comeback on Wednesday. While the Atalanta vs Fiorentina odds still list the Viola as favorites to advance, Atalanta still have a decent shot to pull it off. Atalanta vs Fiorentina Head-to-Head

Fiorentina pulled off a 1-0 win over Atalanta in Florence three weeks ago. Rolando Mandragora’s long range effort was possibly the best goal in the Coppa Italia thus far. It made all the difference as the Viola picked up their second straight win over Atalanta. The Atalanta vs Fiorentina odds priced both sides’ moneylines at +165 heading into the match. Atalanta did manage to defeat Fiorentina at home last season but the Viola have only lost one of the last seven meetings.

Atalanta Give Fans Reasons to Celebrate

The last few days have given the Atalanta faithful reason to celebrate. While they lost 1-0 to Liverpool last Thursday in the second leg of the Europa League Quarter-Final, La Dea still advanced 3-1, on aggregate. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side became the first team to defeat Liverpool at Anfield just a week earlier and they’ve shown they can hang with anybody.

With their 2-1 win over Monza on Sunday, Atalanta stayed in the race for the Champions League next season. It’s looking likely that five teams from Serie A will automatically qualify for the UCL next season. Right now, Atalanta are in sixth place in the Serie A standings, just one point behind Roma.

Ademola Lookman was excellent on Sunday, as he provided assists for Charles De Ketelaere and El Bilal Toure. Toure scored in what was his first start for La Dea. Just Giorgio Scalvini is on the injury list for Atalanta heading into this one. Gianluca Scamacca sat out on Sunday but the striker is expected to be available here.

Fiorentina Going for Back-to-Back Finals

Fiorentina also found success in European competition last week. With their 2-0 extra-time victory over Viktoria Plzen, in which Nico Gonzalez and Cristiano Biraghi scored, La Viola advanced to the UEFA Europa Conference League Semifinal. They followed it up with a 2-0 win over Salernitana on Sunday. Christian Kouame scored on a looping header in the 80th minute and Mandragora found Jonathan Ikone deep into stoppage time.

The Viola have drawn two of their three Coppa Italia matches so far. Fiorentina defeated Parma in penalties in the round of 16 and did the same vs. Bologna in the Quarters. Fiorentina’s one-goal advantage heading into the second leg is something they’ll try to hold on to for dear life. They have a decent shot of doing just that, as they’ve conceded just two times in their last six matches.

Even though they do have one foot in the Final, Fiorentina come in at just +350 outright odds to win the Coppa Italia. If they’re able to qualify on Wednesday, it’d mark their second straight appearance in the Coppa Italia Final. However, the Viola will be missing both Giacomo Bonaventura and Andrea Belotti at Atalanta.

At the moment, the Atalanta vs Fiorentina odds list the visiting Viola as -160 favorites to advance to the Coppa Italia Final. Even a one-goal Fiorentina loss would still allow them to advance through extra time. Atalanta are -125 favorites to win on the night but La Dea show +130 odds to go through.

This has been a special season for Atalanta in cup competitions as they inch closer to their first-ever major trophy. It wouldn’t at all be a surprise to see Atalanta turn it around here but they have won just two of their last six games, in all competitions. La Dea certainly have the more dynamic attacking players and they’ve scored 14 more goals than Fiorentina in Serie A this season.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina +0.5 sits at even odds (+100) and the visitors are +340 underdogs. A draw (+290) would see Fiorentina through so expect Atalanta to start throwing numbers forward as the match goes on. Both over and under 2.5, 3 goals are priced at -115 odds for this intriguing Semifinal matchup.
