Coupe de France Quarter-Final: PSG vs Nice Odds
Most Anticipated Match of the Quarters
Parisians Challenging on All Fronts
Paris Saint-Germain are in first place in Ligue 1 and they managed to defeat Real Sociedad twice to advance to the Champions League Quarter-Final. On Wednesday, PSG host Nice with a spot in the Coupe de France Semifinal on the line.
PSG are still challenging on all fronts, and they’ll look to grab another win here. Meanwhile, Nice haven’t won a major trophy since 1997 and this is their best chance for silverware this season. Ahead of a much-anticipated Quarter-Final match, let’s take a look at the PSG vs Nice odds.
PSG vs Nice Head-to-Head
The last time these teams met, Nice picked up an impressive 3-2 win over PSG at the Parc des Princes last September. The PSG vs Nice odds listed the visitors as +495 pregame underdogs. Terem Moffi scored twice for the visitors, who handed PSG their first loss of the 2023-24 Ligue 1 season.
The last time these teams met in the Coupe de France, in 2022, Nice also defeated PSG in penalties. Nice have only lost in two of their last six games vs PSG, but the Parisians have dominated this fixture over the last ten years.
PSG Stars Rested and Ready
With a nine-point lead in Ligue 1, Luis Enrique rested some of his stars on Sunday when PSG took on Reims. Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, Randal Kolo Muani, and Gianluigi Donnarumma all started on the bench.
Without their key players logging big minutes, PSG managed a 2-2 draw. Achraf Hakimi’s error led to Reims’ first goal but he atoned for it by sending in a corner that led to a Reims own goal.
Goncalo Ramos also scored for the sixth time in Ligue 1 this season to give PSG the lead. Oumar Diakite scored an equalizer for Reims just before halftime, and all the scoring happened in the first half.
Much has been made of Enrique’s decisions to bench Mbappe recently but the French superstar has played in all of the important games. Expect Mbappe, who has scored a ridiculous 34 goals this season, to start on Wednesday. He also leads all Ligue 1 players in goals, with 21.
Mbappe has found the net six times in just three Coupe de France matches as well. In the round of 16, PSG defeated Brest, who are in second place in the Ligue 1 table, 3-1, and Mbappe, Danilo Pereira, and Ramos got on the scoresheet.
It is a bit concerning that the Parisians have drawn three of their last four games overall, but they are on a 22-game unbeaten run dating back to November. At the moment, the Coupe de France odds price PSG as -140 favorites to win the competition.
Nice Free Falling Down Ligue 1 Table
OGC Nice conceded just 11 goals in their first 20 Ligue 1 matches of the season. Nice looked like Champions League contenders and were incredibly difficult to break down.
In the five France Ligue 1 games since, they’ve conceded eight goals and have gone 0-1-4. Last Friday, Jean-Clair Todibo mis-kicked a clearance into the back of his own net off of a corner as Nice fell behind 1-0 at Montpellier.
Jeremie Boga equalized for Nice just 76 seconds later, but Nice couldn’t seem to catch a break. Gaetan Laborde got called for a hand ball in the box and Teji Savanier converted to give Montpellier a lead they wouldn’t relinquish this time.
Pablo Rosario also went off injured for Nice in the match, and his status is worth monitoring for Wednesday’s match. At the moment, Sofiane Diop and Youssouf Ndayishmiye are also out injured.
To reach the Coupe de France Quarter-Final, Nice defeated Auxerre in penalties in the round of 64. Then, they defeated Bordeaux 3-2 and destroyed Montpellier 4-1 in the round of 16. Morgan Sanson has scored twice in two Coupe de France appearances for Nice this season.
PSG vs Nice Match Analysis & Odds
While some PSG players got a needed rest on Sunday, Marquinhos, Marcos Asensio, Milan Skriniar and Presnel Kimpembe are injured. Expect Mbappe to return to the starting lineup here, though. He scored twice in the 3-2 loss to Nice earlier this season, and he’s always a threat to get on the scoresheet. Here, the PSG vs Nice odds price the Parisians as -220 favorites.
Nice’s win over PSG at the Parc des Princes last September was their first since 2009. They’re now +550 underdogs to break their five game winless streak overall. Bettors can back PSG -1, -1.5 at -105 odds, while Nice +1, +1.5 comes in at -125.
Each of the last seven meetings between these teams has been decided by a single goal or finished in a draw. In the event of a draw (+335), the game would go directly into penalty kicks. With PSG having found the net in 28 of their last 29 games, over 2.5 goals is priced at -135 odds.
