SEC Teams Win Totals: Georgia, Alabama With Lofty Numbers

Saban After it Again, Vanderbilt Looking Bleak!

The SEC teams win totals have been released and there are few surprises when it comes to the big dogs in the Southeastern Conference. Georgia and Alabama have the highest numbers posted. Vanderbilt has the lowest win total of any SEC team. Everybody else is somewhere in between.

One thing that makes it tough for SEC teams is that they have to play each other. Average teams who play a tough non-conference slate then an SEC schedule might only win six games. They might be battle-tested for bowl season, but that’s not the point of SEC teams win totals wagers. You’re simply interested in the number of games each team wins. Nothing else. An underdog might cover the NCAA odds, but the only thing that matters is straight-up wins and losses.

As usual, the SEC is going to be one of the premier conferences in college football in 2023. Georgia is the favorite to claim the national title. Alabama isn’t far behind. Plus you have teams like LSU and Tennessee that are going to be very good and challenging for a New Year’s Six bowl appearance.

Bulldogs logoGeorgia 11.5 Wins (Over +115, Under -145)

The Georgia Bulldogs get stuck with an 11.5-win total, the highest of any team in the conference. The Bulldogs have a relatively easy schedule, at least by SEC standards. Georgia doesn’t play Alabama, LSU, or Texas A&M out of the West. The toughest game of the year will likely be at Tennessee in November. The number is high, but the Bulldogs have the talent to go through the season undefeated.

Crimson Tide logoAlabama Crimson Tide 10.5 Wins (Over +140, Under -170)

Alabama has a tougher schedule than Georgia. The Crimson Tide plays Texas, Tennessee and LSU at home. A trip to face Texas A&M on the road is also on tap this season. Alabama will have to win three of those four games in order to go over the total. It’s quite possible. But it’s also a tough task.

Tigers logoLSU Tigers 9.5 Wins (Over -105, Under -125)

The LSU Tigers have an excellent chance at getting 10 wins again, so this could be a decent over-bet. The Tigers do have a trip to Alabama on the slate. But most of the tougher foes are at home, including the likes of Florida State and Texas A&M. LSU can’t afford to stumble against a lessor foe and has the talent not to.

Volunteers logoTennessee Volunteers 9.5 Wins (Over +120, Under -150)

The Volunteers are going to have a tough time getting to 10 wins this season. It’s not that the Vols don’t have 10-win talent, but rather a pretty brutal schedule. Tennessee travels to Alabama and hosts Georgia, which could very well be two losses right there. Missouri and Texas A&M aren’t pushovers, and the Vols would have to win both games unless they can knock off the Tide or Bulldogs.

Aggies logoTexas A&M 7.5 Wins (Over -150, Under +120)

The Aggies have a good chance to exceed the SEC teams win totals number of 7.5. Texas A&M should be able to handle its nonconference foes. The Aggies will then have to win its winnable conference games, along with a win over Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, or Ole Miss. It’s a tough slate, but Texas A&M has some talent and should be able to reach eight wins.

Rebels logoOle Miss 7.5 Wins (Over -110, Under -120)

The Rebels are going to be a good team, but not a great one. Ole Miss will need to win at least two of its three non-conference games to get to eight wins. Alabama, LSU and Georgia are all on the schedule. Tulane won’t be an easy non-conference game. Ole Miss figures to get between seven and eight wins, making this a good number and a tough one to bet into.

Razorbacks logoArkansas 7 Wins (Over +110, Under -140)

The Razorbacks have four very winnable non-conference games on their schedule. It’s a matter of how Arkansas performs in conference play. The SEC schedule is going to be tough. LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Alabama are each on the conference slate.

Tigers logoAuburn 6.5 Wins (Over -135, Under +105)

The Tigers are another team that figures to have a strong non-conference showing. But how they perform in conference games will determine their fate in the SEC teams win totals. Auburn should win all four non-conference games, which come against UMass, Cal, Samford and New Mexico State. But the Tigers also have four tough games in Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M. It’s the remaining games against Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Vanderbilt that will settle this wager.

Bulldogs logoMississippi State 6.5 Wins (Over +105, Under -135)

It’s more of the same for Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are in the exact situation that Auburn is in. Mississippi State has four very winnable non-conference games, with Western Michigan, Southeastern Louisiana, and Arizona on the schedule. But the Bulldogs also have LSU, Alabama and Texas A&M. An early season game against South Carolina could be the difference between six or seven wins for Mississippi State.

Gamecocks logoSouth Carolina 6.5 Wins (Over -110, Under -120)

The Gamecocks are most likely a seven-win team, which makes this number a pretty good one. South Carolina does have a non-conference game with Clemson. The Gamecocks should win the other three. The team has a couple of the easier SEC games. But South Carolina also has Georgia, Tennessee and Texas A&M. The winner of the game with Mississippi State has the inside track to get to seven victories.

Wildcats logoKentucky Wildcats 6.5 Wins (Over -145, Under +115)

The Wildcats are following the pattern set by a number of the other SEC teams. Play a fairly soft non-conference schedule, then hope to pick up enough conference wins to get a bowl berth. This time it’s Kentucky, which has a very good chance of being on the right side of the NCAAF scores in all four non-conference games. But the Wildcats will have to win three of its four winnable SEC games. Kentucky should get to seven wins, but it’s not a great play by any means.

Tigers logoMissouri Tigers 6.5 Wins (Over Even, Under -130)

The Missouri Tigers will be favored to win three of their four non-conference contests. It’s the SEC schedule that will make or break the Tigers. Missouri should be able to get to six wins and earn bowl eligibility. It’s just a question of getting that seventh victory to go over the total in the SEC teams win totals wager. It could come down to the final two games of the season against Florida and Arkansas.

Gators logoFlorida Gators 5.5 Wins (Over -120, Under -110)

The non-conference schedule includes Utah and Florida State. But it also includes McNeese and Charlotte. But the Gators are going to need to go 3-1 to have a better-than-average shot of winning six games. The conference schedule is tough. The Gators have Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU. Getting to six wins will be an accomplishment, but is entirely possible.

Commodores logoVanderbilt Commodores 3.5 Wins (Over -155, Under +125)

The one good thing about betting Vanderbilt over 3.5 is you should know pretty early in the season how your wager is going to fare. The Commodores could win their first four games of the season. But a more likely scenario is Vandy going 3-1 and then having to pull an upset in the SEC. There are really just a few opportunities for the Commodores to get a conference victory this season. But Vanderbilt should get at least four wins on the year.
