Best NFL Week 5 Teasers: Banking on Teams to Score All the Way

This Week, We Support These Teams’ Offenses

Prolific Offenses Carry our Week 5 Teasers

Last week, we banked on defenses to deliver. And they did. But we all know that it’s much more fun cheering for a team to score than the other way. So for our NFL Week 5 teasers, we focused on the great teams – the ones who’d put up a lot of points and make it worth watching. These three are also contenders and may even be worth stacking in a parlay.

Spread: Buffalo (-5.5)
Day/Time:
Location: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, UK
Records: Jets (1-3), Broncos (1-3)
Streaming: NFL Network

The Bills are the hottest team in the NFL right now. This is considering that this team lost in Week 1 scoring just 16 points while committing four turnovers. And the last time they faced the Jaguars, they scored just six points. But Buffalo is peaking. Josh Allen is averaging his best completion rate. The team has its best running back since Sean McDermott coached. And the team does not have too many NFL injuries.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Sure, we can’t discount the other Josh Allen and his impact in this game. The Jaguars also have a bit of an advantage already acclimating to London. This team will not just let Buffalo blow them out. But its defense is not that great and its running game is struggling. Still, in the event Buffalo starts slow, that’s why you use an NFL Week 5 teaser. Tease Bills -4.5 (-130)

Panthers logo Carolina Panthers vs Detroit Lions Lions logo

Spread: Lions (-10)
Day/Time:
Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Records: Panthers (0-4), Lions (3-1)
Streaming: FOX

In this catfight, there is an easy one to back: the Lions. For one, this NFL team’s offense is tiers above Carolina’s. Detroit may just hang 30 on Carolina or more. But we’ll give the Panthers their due: they’re not as bad as their record indicates. The defense is solid and Bryce Young, despite having no receivers and a bad offensive line, is a shrewd quarterback. There is a small chance Carolina keeps this NFL game within 10 points.

As such, teasing Detroit to under nine points is a solid NFL Week 5 teaser. That’s three field goals, which Detroit can do as it averages over 386 yards a game. Furthermore, the Lions’ stout o-line could just neutralize Carolina’s formidable front-seven. And the offense can do enough to cover our teaser. Tease Lions -8.5 (-140)

Cowboys logo Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers 49ers logo

Spread: San Francisco (-3.5)
Day/Time:
Location: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA
Records: Cowboys (3-1), 49ers (4-0)
Streaming: NBC

Despite how popular this rivalry is, the 49ers are a tier above the Cowboys. The NFL game odds this week have lined closely due to these teams’ immense popularity. San Francisco handled the Cardinals, who just upset the Cowboys. Kyle Shanahan’s squad is just more cohesive on both ends of the ball.

Dallas has explosive capabilities. This team is still putting up 31 points a game (fourth overall) and has allowed the fewest points in return (10.3 a game). Still, we saw how the team can struggle in its red zone execution. The Cowboys have plenty of playmakers on both sides. But when you have something similar in San Francisco, it comes down to coaching.

All of our money is on Shanahan over Mike McCarthy. San Francisco should beat Dallas just as soundly as it did in the playoffs. But to avoid any bad beats, tease San Fran’s spread down to under a field goal. Tease 49ers -2.5 (-160)
