Broncos vs Bears Betting Odds: Are The Broncos Worse Than The Bears?

Sunday's Matchup Will Feature Two Of The Worst Teams In The NFL

It’s the battle between two 0-3 teams in the NFL on Sunday.

The Denver Broncos will take on the Chicago Bears in one of the least anticipated games this season.

The Broncos just lost to the Miami Dolphins, 70-20. Meanwhile, the Bears had their lopsided result, with a 41-10 loss to the Chiefs last weekend.

Neither team has anything going for them. But unless there’s a tie, one of these teams will add a win to their resume.

The Broncos Haven’t Won Since Peyton Manning’s Super Bowl Run

Garett Bolles has been with the Broncos since 2017. But after a blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins last weekend, he finally acknowledged his unhappiness with the Broncos.

The losses continue to pile up for the Broncos. Things were supposed to change when Sean Payton took over as head coach.

But they’ve only gotten worse.

The Broncos made the postseason in 2015 with Peyton Manning. But when he retired, the Broncos never saw the postseason again.

Garett Bolles explained that he was tired of losing to the press after the game. He also acknowledged that the team battled in all three games, but the game against the Dolphins was a bit flukey.

Whether or not the Broncos battled doesn’t matter. They allowed 70 points in an NFL game and lost by 50. That’s the equivalent of an FCS team losing to a Top-25 FBS team in college football.

That’s not acceptable.

The Broncos won’t be heading to playoffs this year after an 0-3 start.

Changes Need To Be Made In Chicago

The Chicago Bears had a bunch of believers to start the season. But once the whistle blew and the kick-off began the game in Week 1, fans recognized that this season would be the same as last season.

Former Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren took over as the President of the Bears this offseason. He’s got a lot on his plate in his short time with the Bears.

General manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus are already on the hot seat after this 0-3 start. Those two are only in their second seasons with the team.

However, the Bears continue to get it wrong with their quarterback and head coach. Once the Bears get a new head coach, they bring in a new quarterback. The coach doesn’t perform with the new quarterback, so the Bears go after a new coach, who then wants a new quarterback.

The same cycle has continued for many years now.

Chicago would love to avoid this. They’ve said that Justin Fields is their franchise quarterback. But if the Bears finished in last place this NFL season, they couldn’t say no to Caleb Williams with the first overall selection.

Below, we’ll discuss Chicago’s matchup and provide the Broncos vs Bears betting odds for this intriguing matchup.

Broncos vs Bears Betting Odds

Although the Broncos just lost to the Dolphins, 70-20, they’re 3.5-point favorites on the road against the Bears. The total is currently sitting at 46 for this NFL matchup.

The Broncos are 0-3 against the spread to start the season. The Broncos were favorites against the Raiders and Commanders and didn’t even win those games outright. Of course, as six-point underdogs, Denver lost to the Dolphins 70-20 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Over has hit in two of three games. Last weekend’s game had a total of 47, and the Dolphins scored 70 on their own.

On the other hand, the Bears have also gone 0-3 against the spread. The Bears are favorites against the Packers to begin the year but lost 38-20. They also lost as slight underdogs to the Buccaneers, 27-17, and most recently lost as 13-point underdogs to the Chiefs.

The total has gone Over in all three games, with the Bears allowing at least 27 points in each game.

Dating back to last season, the Bears are just 1-9 against the spread. However, the Over has hit in seven of those ten games.

Someone’s Got To Win!

You’ll likely never again see the Denver Broncos as NFL favorites this year. The Broncos have the most amusing NFL odds this week as 3.5-point favorites on the road after losing by 50 points last weekend.

Both teams are at the bottom of most NFL stats. However, the Broncos’ defense has easily been the worst in the NFL.

Denver has allowed 469.3 yards per game, including 177.7 yards per game on the ground. Sean Payton laughed at Nathaniel Hackett last season and told the media he thought the Broncos had the worst coaching performance he had ever seen.

But that game against the Dolphins was basically karma right back at him.

The Broncos look terrible in coverage. They’ve missed countless tackles and have a run defense that has struggled badly. The pass rush has had its moments. But with the coverage playing so poorly, it doesn’t even matter.

Meanwhile, the Bears have only averaged 277 yards per game on offense. Chicago’s run game has potential. The Bears should design more run plays for Fields, especially against this Broncos defense.

Chicago hasn’t looked good in the run block with its offensive line. But the Broncos are one team the Bears can handle in the run game.

On the flip side, the Bears have allowed 410 yards per game on defense. They’ve given up 288.3 yards in the air and 121.7 yards on the ground. The defense isn’t nearly as bad as Denver’s. However, the secondary, pass rush, and tackling need to improve. However, I’ll give the Bears some props for their run defense. It’s good enough.

The Broncos will want to throw the ball with Russell Wilson, who has averaged over 260 yards per game in the air. Denver hasn’t had success rushing the football and likely won’t have much success against the Bears.

However, we think the Bears’ pass rush is the best part of the defense. They can still create a little pressure on Wilson.

Therefore, we like the Bears, at home, as 3.5-point underdogs.
