NFL Teaser Picks For Week 8: Three Types of Home Teams To Back
NFC Hosts Could Deliver on This Three-Team Teaser Parlay
Add a 6.5-Point Teaser To These Home Teams
Home turf advantage is overstated in the NFL. It plays a factor, and that’s why oddsmakers give an extra point or two for home teams. That can come to the detriment of backers. This season, home favorites have only covered 50.8% (30-29-2) despite winning 63.9% of their games (39-22). To come in between these spreads and moneylines, use this NFL teaser picks at 6.5 points for a three-team parlay.
Cleveland Browns vs Seattle Seahawks
Records: Browns (4-2), Seahawks (4-2)
Day/Time:
Location: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
Streaming: FOX
We start with Seattle, which hosts Cleveland as 3.5-point favorites. That means a field-goal win won’t do it for Seattle. Adding the 6.5-point teaser effectively flips that by making Seattle an underdog by a field goal. Not only can Seattle cover by eking out a victory, but it has leeway in case Cleveland pulls more late-game heroics.
The Seahawks are just 3-5-0 against the spread (ATS) as home favorites since last season. Lumen Field is notoriously a tough place for visitors to play in. But the reputation precedes the results. But as a home underdog, Seattle went 3-1-0 against the NFL betting lines. We like it better than a dog. Tease Seahawks from -3.5 to +3.
Los Angeles Rams vs Dallas Cowboys
Records: Rams (3-4), Cowboys (4-2)
Day/Time: Location: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
Streaming: FOX
Dallas returns from a bye, and it should beat the slowly disintegrating Rams, right? Coach Mike McCarthy is 9-2-1 ATS when having that extra week to prepare in the regular season. But we still can’t fade the Rams entirely, especially since they are 2-1-1 ATS as an underdog this year. So here comes the teaser: Dallas is now simply a pick to win.
All Dallas has to do is win, even if it’s by a point. The Cowboys have won 10 straight home games and are 15-5 since 2021. As for the Rams, they are not so good on the road: just 2-8 in their last 10 games. Dallas should be fresher, more prepared, and will make for a solid NFL teaser pick this Week 8. Tease Cowboys from -6.5 to pk.
Las Vegas Raiders vs Detroit Lions
Records: Raiders (3-4), Lions (5-2)
Day/Time:
Location: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Streaming: ESPN
This is where it could get hairy for our teaser parlay. Despite being butchered by the Ravens, the Lions return home as nine-point favorites. That line is too wide, even if we are confident in Detroit, who should finish in the upper half of the NFL playoff bracket. For some insurance, the 6.5-point teaser drops Detroit’s spread to just 2.5 points. That’s just a field goal.
The Lions are 6-1-0 ATS when favored by a field goal or fewer since last season. This is still one of the best-built teams and will not give up over 37 points against the Raiders, who average 16 points a game. If anything, this matchup could be a low-scoring one, as four of Las Vegas’s games have gone under the total.
The Raiders’ defense sometimes finds a way to turn games into dogfights. Detroit also has injuries, namely to its running backs. Watch over NFL updates, as it could significantly impact its offense as it did against Baltimore. Still, at just -2.5, Detroit should find a way to win and cover. Tease Lions from -9 to -2.5.
