Bellator 297 odds have Nemkov at -550 to improve his record to 17-2, but Romero showed his ability in the UFC, and he could make a big impact in Bellator.
The Bellator main event should end the card with a bang.
Nemkov Unbeaten in Bellator
The 30-year-old hasn’t lost since arriving in Bellator in 2017, where he defeated Philipe Lins with a knockout.
He had to overcome consecutive losses earlier in his career, but one of those came to Jiri Prochazka, so we’ll forgive him for that loss.
With wins over the likes of Corey Anderson and Ryan Bader, Nemkov is one of the bright lights in the light heavyweight division, as he looks to increase his winning streak to 11.
The champion has experience on his side, which is why Nemkov vs Romero odds have him heavily favored to beat Romero, who has explosive power, but the sportsbook isn’t concerned.
He was happy to see the original fight delayed, which gave him more time to prepare.
“I’m actually happy that this fight is happening (Friday) since I have the previous fight and the time between these two fights would have been very short,” Nemkov said.
“So right now I have more time to prepare properly.“I had more time to prepare myself and be in better shape this time.”

After losing a string of decisions in the UFC, including to Israel Adesanya for the title at UFC 248, Romero has looked much better with his hands in Bellator.
He lost his Bellator debut by decision to Phil Davis, but he bounced back with knockout wins over Alex Polizzi and Melvin Manhoef.
He only needs to connect with his ring hand to knock out Nemkov, which makes him one of the more dangerous opponents in the division.
Despite what Nemkov vs Romero odds suggest, which has Romero at +375, he is still a puncher’s chance of causing an upset and winning the title.
The Soldier of God doesn’t always provide fans with consistent performances, but if he goes on the offensive, he could pressure Nemkov into making a mistake, so Nemkov needs to fight with patience.
If they trade blows, Romero has more power than most. He also believes he was robbed of the title at the UFC when facing Robert Whittaker.
“When I trained, it was to come back and fight here. Years ago, I was a champion of another company. Everyone knows what happened in that fight. This time I’ll make sure it’s not the same as last time. So for the day, I tell my children. I’ll have another story to tell them,” Romero said.
He might be the big underdog, but rule out Romero at your peril.
