Yusuff vs Barboza Odds: Money Right With Yusuff

UFC Fight Night Main Event

There has been plenty of action with Yusuff vs Barboza odds for the featured fight at UFC Fight Night.

Our UFC bets look at who has the best chance to win, and with Sodiq Yusuff being the best-backed at -162, he has a great chance to win.

However, Edson Barboza is experienced and he can’t be overlooked as an upset chance.

A Rising Star

Yusuff is a 30-year-old on the rise in the UFC following an impressive submission victory against Don Shainis last year.

He hasn’t fought since, which is a long layoff, but it was hard not to be impressed with the 30 second finish.

The Nigerian-born fighter had a fight against Giga Chikadze cancelled last year, so the UFC thinks highly of him.

Also boasting wins over Alex Caceres, Andre Fili, and Gabriel Benitez, Yusuff is well within his rights to push for a top five ranking in the next year.

“Featherweight is one of those weight classes where a lot of movement doesn’t happen often,” Yusuff said. “I hate to celebrate this, but a lot of us in the rankings are always injured or consistently injured; we all just stick around.

“And a bonus is that I fight in a very exciting way, so I tick off a lot of boxes for the UFC. Every time they put me on a stage to perform, I’ve never disappointed, so I’m happy that they see in me what I see in myself.”

He’s a confident fighter, and he has the age edge over Barboza. Younger UFC fighters have an excellent record, and that can’t be overlooked.

We’re not surprised to see Yusuff vs Barboza odds have him as the firm favorite despite the long layoff.

His UFC results speak for themselves, and he looks ready to go.

Barboza is Still a Force

As he showed when knocking out Billy Quarantillo in April in the first round, Barboza is still a dangerous featherweight.

The 37-year-old Brazilian took care of the 18-5 fighter with ease, and it was a good bounce back after losing a decision to the red-hot Bryce Mitchell.

Losing to Mitchell isn’t the worst loss in the world. Mitchell is a 16-2 fighter, and Barboza had previously lost to Chikadze, so there’s no dodging the tough opponents.

Yusuff is no easier, but Barboza has been near the top of the UFC rankings for a long time, and that can’t be overlooked.

Consistency has been the hardest thing for Barboza, who is often featured in the UFC betting lines, but it could be tough to back him this time around.

The +132 underdog is the ageing fighter, and that’s our biggest concern. He might not have the speed advantage against a younger and more exciting fighter.

Backing Yusuff with Confidence

It should be a close fight, but we’re going with the favorite to prevail in the five round fight.

He is arguably the most exciting fighter on the card, and although we haven’t seen him for some time, he could come back with a bang.

Yusuff vs Barboza odds have him favored to win, and he could offer bettors with value in prop betting markets.

Yusuff to win by KO or TKO pays +250, but we don’t mind him to win by submission again. Bettors get +500 for this option, which is too good for overlook.
