NCAAF Week 4 Betting Lines: Plenty of Movement
Looking For Value After Lines Change

Week 4 of the 2023 college football season is nearly upon us, and bettors have taken a number of stands on this weekend’s games. There have been the typical small movements in a number of games. But the NCAAF week 4 betting lines have five games that have seen a line move of at least 3.5 points or more. Those are the games on the NCAA football schedule that will be looked at in this article.
Florida Atlantic Owls vs Illinois Fighting Illini
Date & Time:
Streaming: Big Ten Network
Line: Illinois -16
Total: 45.5
The NCAA football odds on this game opened Illinois -12, and the point spread has been bet up to Illini -16. Both teams are 1-2 straight-up and 0-3 against the point spread. The Illini have played a more demanding schedule. But the Owls haven’t played a bunch of slouches. Illinois is struggling to stop the run, which could give FAU a chance to make some plays. The Owls will be without starting quarterback Casey Thompson for the rest of the year. It wouldn’t be a shock to see Florida Atlantic hang around long enough to get the cover in this one.
Arizona Wildcats vs Stanford Cardinal
Date & Time:
Streaming: Pac 12 Network
Line: Arizona -13
Total: 60
Arizona opened as 9.5-point favorites, and the line has been bet up 13, which is likely a better number than the opener. You can’t fault anybody who believed the NCAAF week 4 betting lines were a little light on this game and bet Arizona. The Cardinal has been horrible as a home underdog, going 2-9 ATS over the past five seasons. Arizona (2-1, 3-0 ATS) is no great bargain, but Stanford is 1-2 straight-up and against the number, thanks to a win at Hawaii to open the season. The Cardinal are coming off a loss to Sacramento State.
Colorado Buffaloes vs Oregon Ducks
Date & Time:
Streaming: ABC
Line: Oregon -21
Total: 70.5
The Oregon Ducks have moved from 17-point favorites to 21-point chalk in this Pac-12 Conference battle. While it’s a meeting of the top 20 teams, the NCAAF matchups favor the Ducks quite a bit in this one. Oregon is scoring 58 points and allowing 15.7 while going 3-0 straight-up and against the spread. Colorado is averaging 41.3 points, but allowing 30.3 points, while posting a 3-0 record and a 2-1 mark ATS. Colorado hasn’t run the ball well, and that’s probably Oregon’s weak link. The Buffaloes won’t have an easy time if forced to throw every down.
Ohio Bobcats vs Bowling Green Falcons
Date & Time:
Streaming: ESPN+
Line: Ohio -13
Total: 44
The NCAAF week 4 betting lines have moved from Ohio -9.5 to Ohio -13 in this one. The Bobcats are 3-1 straight-up and 2-2 against the spread. Bowling Green is 1-2 and 2-1 against the spread. It’s never easy laying 13 points with a team that averaged 16.8 points offensively. The Ohio defense has been outstanding all season. But the Bobcats aren’t a team to be laying double-digits with. The Falcons were thumped by Michigan in the last game, but they aren’t all that bad defensively. Have to think Bowling Green can score enough points to stay within the generous point spread.
Central Florida Knights vs Kansas St Wildcats
Date & Time:
Streaming: FS1
Line: Kansas State -3.5
Total: 52
The Wildcats opened as 7-point favorites, but the line has dropped to 3.5. The teams have comparable stats, with UCF scoring 40.7 points and allowing 12. Kansas State is averaging 38 and allowing 14.3 points. The Knights are 3-0 straight-up and 2-1 against the spread. Kansas State is 2-1 straight-up and ATS. The Wildcats have played a more demanding schedule, as UCF has gone up against some weak teams. The Knights are averaging nearly 300 rushing yards per game. But that should come to a stop against a Kansas State defense that is allowing 1.9 yards per rush. This is probably the toughest game to predict of all the games that saw significant line moves.
