Green Bay’s Patience With Jordan Love Is Paying Dividends
We Broke Down The Packers vs Giants Betting Odds For ABC's Monday Night Football Game
The Green Bay Packers and New York Giants will be one of two games played on Monday Night Football in Week 14.
The Packers have won four of their last five games and are back in the playoff hunt with a 6-6 record. Meanwhile, the Giants aren’t effectively out of the race for the NFL playoffs.
New York is 4-8 after two straight wins against Washington and New England behind a current New York legend, Tommy DeVito.
DeVito has won fans over with his demeanor and play on the field. The Giants have won two straight with DeVito under center, despite New York only scoring ten points in their last matchup.
Before the season began, the Giants were 2.5-point favorites. However, by the time Week 14 rolled around, the Packers were 6-point favorites. That line adjusted to -5.5 but is up to -7 now for the Packers.
However, the total hasn’t moved as much. It opened at 38 as high as and is now at 36.5.
Let’s break down the Packers vs Giants betting odds for this Monday Night Football game on ABC.

Packers vs Giants Betting Odds & Trends
The Packers have turned things around in the second half of the NFL season. Green Bay has won four of their last five games straight up and against the spread. Now Green Bay is 7-5 against the spread on the season.
Meanwhile, the Over and Under have each hit six times for the Packers this season. However, we should note that the Packers are just 2-4 on the road this season.
On the other hand, the Giants are better at home, sitting at 2-3. They’ve won four games and have covered in four games. However, the total has hit the Under in nine of 12 NFL matchups for the Giants.
The last meeting between the Packers and Giants was in 2022, when the Giants earned a 27-22 victory as 8.5-point underdogs.
Jordan Love’s Evolution
The Packers began the season 2-5. It wasn’t looking promising with Jordan Love under center. Many analysts preached patience while the fans started to panic.
Love has dealt with many changing parts on the offense this season. Aaron Jones hasn’t been healthy most of the season, while Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Luke Musgrave, and other NFL players have all been unhealthy at some point.
He’s not Aaron Rodgers. Most quarterbacks won’t be. However, he’s starting his journey with Green Bay. The confidence is finally shining. Love and the Packers have scored at least 19 points in each of the last five games.
His best game came in the upset win against the Chiefs last weekend on national television on Sunday night. He went through all the checks and figured out the Chiefs’ defense so well that he helped the Packers escape the former Super Bowl champions.
Darren Waller Still Not Ready to Return
The Giants made a big splash in last year’s off-season after trading for Darren Waller. Waller was always projected as a top-five tight end since he started making some noise in Las Vegas.
However, the Giants expected to be in the playoff hunt and signed Waller to be their tight end of the future.
It hasn’t worked out this season, mainly because Giants quarterbacks haven’t had much time to throw him the ball.
Beyond that, Waller’s been hurt. After 107 catches and 1,196 yards with nine touchdowns in 2020, Waller has battled injuries nonstop ever since.
He only caught 28 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns in last year’s season and has only added 36 catches for 384 yards and a touchdown this season.
Waller has the talent. But his talent can only do so much with how injury-prone he is. Either way, he’ll be back soon. The Giants hope they’re still playing for something when he does.
Will Tommy DeVito’s Magic Run Out?
The Giants have enjoyed Tommy DeVito’s play. He stepped in for Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor when both quarterbacks went down with injuries and landed on the NFL injury report.
He hasn’t played at an extremely high level, though. He’s relatable. Fans love him. He’s from the same area and has that Italian heritage inside him. He also still lives at home with his parents and gets free food from his mom when it’s dinner time.
However, the Giants have scored no more than 17 points in two of the three games DeVito has started.
After a whole bye week, DeVito and the rest of the Giants are likely more on the same page than they’ve been this season. So that will help. But DeVito is likely not the answer in the long term for the Giants at quarterback.
After all, he’s playing behind the worst offensive line in the NFL. They can’t protect anything.
On the other hand, Green Bay has held NFL teams to 203.75 yards per game in the air. The secondary has performed well, and the pass rush has been almost just as good. DeVito will be running for his life again and must take care of the ball.
Still, the Giants could find success running the football. After all, Green Bay has allowed 136.25 yards on the ground. New York has one of the best runners in the NFL in, Saquon Barkley.
Conversely, the Packers should get Aaron Jones back. However, the Packers’ run game has been better without him recently. Still, his veteran presence and skill should help the Packers moving forward. Green Bay has a much more efficient offense and the same unreliable defense as the Giants. New York is terrible against the run but fair against the pass.
When looking at the NFL odds, the Packers are still major favorites on the road in a primetime game. The NFL betting lines make sense if you remember New York’s last Monday Night Football game against the Seahawks. The Giants never stood a chance in that one.
Therefore, after looking closely at the Packers vs Giants betting odds, the Packers at -6.5 is still the best bet for this matchup.
