NFL: Broncos vs Raiders Odds Analysis

Vegas Won’t Make Postseason but On 6-1-1 ATS Run

The Denver Broncos (8-8) and the Las Vegas Raiders (7-9) have been eliminated from the postseason with this game a mere formality to the 2024 season. The Broncos are 6-9-1 ATS this season and 7-9 to the under. In their last 10 games, there has been some improvement after a 1-5 start but that wasn’t good enough to extend their season. Vegas is 9-5-2 ATS and 5-11 to the under. Over the last 10 games, the Raiders are 4-6 SU but 6-3-1 ATS. Our NFL scores and odds sheet show Vegas as a 3.5-point favorite with a total of 35. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET from Allegiant Stadium and can be seen on FOX.

Revenge Spot For Stidham?

With three NFL starts under his belt, Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham is looking for a more permanent home as he prepares to face the Raiders who gave him two of his three starts last season. Last week was a good start for the 27-year-old signal caller after his first career win as a starter against the Los Angeles Chargers (16-9).

The former Auburn Tiger was 20-32 for 224 yards and a touchdown with no picks. Not bad behind a defense that limited Los Angeles to 301 total yards and three field goals with two being from 50+. Stidham wasn’t in Vegas long enough for this to be a full-on revenge spot but there has to be a part of him that wants to show them that they should have kept him around longer.

Russell Wilson has likely played his last down for the Broncos making this a bit of an audition for Stidham. A two-game win streak after leading his team to an above .500 record will go a long way. OC Joe Lombardi has given Stidham a chance to show off some after calling for 32 passes a week ago. That’s more than Wildon averaged as a starter per game (29.8 per game) despite Denver struggling to get to the 20-point mark most weeks. Let’s continue our Broncos vs Raiders odds analysis by turning our attention to Vegas.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Organization Stability Is Offseason Goal

If Las Vegas wins Sunday, it will be hard to look at interim head coach Antonio Pierce and say thanks but no thanks. Pierce took over a Raiders team that was fresh off a 26-14 loss to the Detroit Lions to fall to 3-5 and were the subject of harsh criticism for sticking with HC Josh McDaniels. Fans found a way to tell owner Mark Davis to his face that they were not pleased and the truth is, if the game against the Lions was at home they would have fired McDaniel earlier after a 30-12 loss at Chicago as a 2.5-point favorite.

Pierce took over on Halloween and immediately established a looser locker room, complete with cigars after victories. You didn’t have to see through the smoke to know that even though Vegas is just 4-4 under Pierce, the culture seemed different. Now as we head into the final week of the season, you get the feeling that this game isn’t just for Stidham to win a job. We conclude our Broncos vs Raiders odds analysis with our official selection.

Public Throwing Money At Denver

Probably more this year than any other, it’s been harder to predict betting patterns because the public isn’t just betting on high-profile teams anymore. This week, 83% of the money has come in on the Broncos, surprising with the Raiders having a few things of their own to play for. This looks like professional money is mixed in there because we think before kickoff we’ll see ticket count favor Las Vegas.

We thought we could get a better number, perhaps in the three range but it doesn’t look like the books are going to budge at all. We think Stidham is going to find success against one of the worst secondary units in the league and we wouldn’t be shocked if special teams played a major role in the outcome which also favors Denver by a wide margin. We’ll be back next week with our NFL playoff picks.
