Last week, our 6.5-point teasers on three home teams won. Now, we’re taking that formula but using it on three underdogs. There are different types of dogs this week and each is worth giving an extra 6.5 points to. Whether it’s a “revenge game”, an underestimated home team, or something else entirely, these NFL Week 9 teasers only back teams with “dawgs in them”.
Indianapolis Colts vs Carolina Panthers (+2.5)

We had to a double look on this betting line here. Yes, Carolina has been atrocious this NFL season. But coming off its first victory, an upset over the Texans, must have this team feeling some type of way. And on top of that, head coach Frank Reich is going against his old team. This reeks of intangibles so our first NFL Week 9 teaser is on the Panthers.
The Colts, under Gardner Minshew, are turnover-prone. And the defense has allowed 37+ points in their last three games. That’s why four of their last five games went over the totals. On the flip side, Carolina has slowly gotten better – on both sides of the ball. This is the type of NFL matchup where they can score on Indy or stymy their offense. Tease Panthers from +2.5 to +9
Buffalo Bills (+2) vs Cincinnati Bengals

Records: Bills (5-3), Bengals (4-3)
Location: Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, OH
Streaming: NBC
The public has either abandoned Buffalo, which is 0-4 against the spread (ATS) in its last four games, or is all in on Cincinnati, which is 3-1 in its last four games. So the line flipped from Buffalo -1.5 to Buffalo +2. Everyone is getting a bit too excited to fade Buffalo. It is still one of the best-rounded teams and is worthy of one of our NFL teaser picks.
The Bills’ have a top-three pass rush and can give Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow some hell. And on offense, Josh Allen has played tremendously despite turning the ball over in six of his eight games. But 10 of the Bills’ last 11 games have come within six points. The only exception was that AFC Divisional Championship game against Cincinnati. Still, that version of Buffalo was running on empty. Not this one. Tease Bills from +2 to +8.5.
Los Angeles Chargers vs New York Jets (+3.5)

Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Streaming: ESPN
The Jets round out our set of NFL week 9 teasers. This NFL team fights for your money. These Jets are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games. They also ended Philadelphia’s perfect season. And as bad as Zach Wilson has been, the Jets have managed to be good enough to win or cover. That will be the same case against a Chargers team that is just bad.
Of the Chargers’ three wins (and three covers), two came against Chicago and Las Vegas. They’re dumpster fires. And the third was against Minnesota, which started 1-4 with its only win coming against Carolina. The Jets’ defense is getting better and has allowed just 15 points in its last three games. This one should be a low-scoring grind as the NFL scores for today indicate. So win or lose, the Jets should keep this within a single-digit margin. Tease Jets from +3.5 to +10.
