Champ Headlines Adesanya vs Pereira Odds

Will the Rematch Take Place?

There are doubts about this fight happening, but Adesanya vs Pereira odds have the current champion picked to win.

Adesanya is one of the best UFC fighters of all time, and although he was finished by Pereira in their first UFC fight, he got revenge in the rematch.

In terms of UFC fights, it doesn’t get much bigger, and although Pereira is now in a different division, it won’t stop him from cutting weight and dropping back to middleweight.

Adesanya Focused Elsewhere

Unfortunately, the future of this fight depends on Adesanya’s willingness to give Pereira another chance at the title.

By all accounts, the next fights for the Nigerian-Kiwi fighter are against Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis, so for this fight to happen before the end of the year seems unlikely.

However, it’s the fight game, and we should expect the unexpected.

Adesanya vs Pereira odds have the champion at -220, and it’s tough to disagree with that price. He scored a knockout win over Pereira in their most recent fight, which was an excellent bounce-back effort.

He covered up and looked beaten, but he landed the killer blow, sending Pereira to the ground in defeat.

He believes he’s only fighting Pereira if the Brazilian wins the light heavyweight belt, which Adesanya couldn’t win.

“If he wins the belt at 205 I’ll do it again,” Adesanya said. “But if not – I think he’s done with it. I’m done with it. I think everyone else wants to see it, but we’ve moved on.

“If I were to bet money on it, no (I don’t think it happens). I’ve been there, it’s hard. If he wins the 205 belt, though, they might give him a fast track like they did with me, and then they’re going to have a magic, crazy, f-cking epic fight at 205 with me and him. That will be us for the fifth time.”

Two-Belt Champion?

According to Adesanya, the only chance they have of meeting is for the light heavyweight title, which makes Pereira’s fight against Jan Blachowicz very interesting.

If the 36-year-old from Sao Paulo can win, the fifth installment of this UFC rivalry could continue, which would change the Adesanya vs Pereira odds.

If the fight takes place at light heavyweight, the advantage has to go with Pereira. He’s the much bigger fighter, and although Adesanya put on weight when losing his only light heavyweight fight, he looked far too small.

It’s rare to see a two-belt champion, and although there are many things to transpire for it to happen, it could be huge for Adesanya.

If Pereira loses to Blachowicz and comes back to middleweight, that will require a weight cut, and we can’t see that happening in 2023.

Bettors might need to weigh to 2024 for the rematch to happen, but we have our eyes peeled.
