Holloway vs Jung Odds Preview: Blessing the End of the Zombie

Heavily Favored Holloway Could Just Bury the “Korean Zombie”

Public Continues To Bet Heavily in Favor of Holloway

Max Holloway looks to put his “Blessed” touch against the “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung. Going by the Holloway vs Jung odds, the former should beat up the latter. The American opened at -700 and was quickly bet down to as low as -850. While some money has come in on the underdog, this should be Holloway’s fight. He may just put an end to the Zombie’s spectacular UFC career.

Holloway vs Jung

Location: Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore
Day/Time: Saturday, 5:00 a.m. ET
Broadcasts: ESPN+

Holloway and Zombie Will Brawl Though It Favors One Side

Max Holloway and Korean Zombie are two of the UFC’s biggest fan favorites thanks to their penchant for brawls. Between them, they have 18 post-fight bonuses and 28 finishes. Holloway set numerous UFC records including having the most significant strikes in history. But the gap between them couldn’t be any bigger as the Holloway vs Jung odds indicate.

Both of their last losses came against the champion: Alexander Volkanovski. But Holloway has been more active and has consistently beaten top-tier competition. Holloway just recently handed Arnold Allen his first loss in the UFC. Prior to that he beat Yair Rodriguez, who just fought for the belt.

The Hawaiian has also fought five times since 2020. In comparison, Jung has fought just three times. On top of this, there is an intangible regarding Hawaii. Holloway will be doubly motivated to perform given what has happened to his home state.

“The people that are affected directly, stay strong. Us people are with you,” Holloway said as part of his passionate rant about what has happened to Maui during the wildfires.

Holloway remains a wide favorite UFC odds and the total is set at just 2.5 rounds, indicating this one could finish at any moment. The line greatly favors this to go past the halfway mark (-225) due to the iron chin of both of these fighters.

Holloway has never been knocked out despite absorbing 4.8 significant strikes per minute. And while four of Jung’s last five losses came via knockout, he’s generally been a tough customer.

With all that said, fans can expect one of the best UFC fights this weekend. As for bettors, siding with Holloway should be done via the props or a parlay.

Asian Card Features Marquee Matchups

The Holloway vs Jung odds may be lopsided, but this Asian UFC affair offers plenty in terms of the other matchups. In fact, this Singaporean event is one of the UFC’s better Fight Night offerings per the UFC schedule.

In the co-main event is a rematch between light heavyweights Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann. Smith is the underdog at +110 despite winning the first fight. Both fighters, especially Spann, either finish or get finished. The total here is heavily juiced to go under 1.5 rounds at -180. Their initial matchup ended in the first round as has been the case for Spann’s last six bouts.

Georgian Muay Thai fighter Giga Chikadze also returns and is moderately favored at -235 to beat Alex Caceres (+195). Chikadze has not competed since being beaten and bloodied early in 2022 against Calvin Kattar. Caceres, the 12-year UFC veteran is 7-1 in his last eight fights.

There is also a potential title eliminator when Erin Blanchfield meets Taila Santos in a 125-pound women’s bout. While Blanchfield is slightly favored at -150, Santos is an underrated fighter who nearly defeated Valentina Shevchenko. At +120, Santos could just pull off the upset here.

And last but not the last is a featured bout with Rinya Nakamura. The undefeated Japanese prospect is a prolific wrestler who is coming off a first-round KO win. It’s not surprising to see him heavily favored at -700 against Fernie Garcia with the total lined at -300 to go under 2.5 rounds.
