Sandhagen vs Font Betting Odds: Fight Night Main Event

Potential Title Eliminator

Sandhagen vs Font betting odds expect Cory Sandhagen to win the catchweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Saturday.

The UFC schedule is constantly changing with fighters pulling out, but Rob Font has stepped up to the plate, and it could be a tricky fight for the -350 Sandhagen.

He’s #4 with UFC rankings, so a title shot could be on the line.

Sandhagen Expects Title Shot

Sandhagen is the clear favorite in the Sandhagen vs Font betting odds and for good reason.

He has recently achieved back-to-back victories against formidable opponents like Yadong Song and Marlon Vera, who are notoriously challenging to defeat, and UFC odds are correct to have him at short odds.

At 31 years old, Sandhagen has consistently proven himself as an exceptional fighter. Despite four losses throughout his career, he has always been near the top of the rankings, and he believes he’s due for a title shot.

“I’m excited about it. I really didn’t want to train my ass off for three straight months and then not have a fight. I’m in tip-top shape. I’m at a tip-top skill level. I’m centered. I’m Zen. I’m ready to go. I’m ready to get this win, and then stamp my letter of approval to get my title shot after this,” Sandhagen said.

“I think that after this fight, who else can you really say should get a title shot other than me? Definitely, Merab, but Merab’s out right now, and he won’t fight Aljamain.”

Facing Font is never an easy task, but at catchweight, Sandhagen is the taller fighter. That could count for plenty against 36-year-old Font.

Font Steps Up

It’s never easy to step up on short notice, but Font is never shy of a challenge.

The font might be the outsider with Sandhagen vs Font betting odds, but a career resurgence is never out of the question.

In April, the Massachusetts-born fighter showcased his skills with an impressive first-round knockout victory against Adrian Yanez at UFC 287, a performance that should not be underestimated.

While he suffered a defeat to Marlon Vera in the past, many believed he was unlucky in that bout. Despite landing 271 significant strikes compared to Vera’s 159, Font lost the decision due to the physical damage he sustained, leaving his face looking battered by the fight’s end.

Now, he faces a different challenge in Sandhagen, who is notoriously difficult to beat by decision. To secure an upset win Font might need a knockout, and that won’t be easy to come by.

He also believes a title shot is his following a win.

“I hope (I get the Aljamain Sterling-Sean O’Malley winner). Obviously, there are no guarantees, but I’m pretty sure that’s what they offered (Sandhagen), that opportunity he got with Omar. Hopefully, they can give that same opportunity to me,” Font said.

It should be an entertaining fight, but we’re picking Sandhagen to come out ahead.
