Best UFC Fighters of All Time

It’s a Controversial List

It’s always up to personal preference when naming the Best UFC Fighters of All Time.

We could have named many more, including Israel Adesanya, Conor McGregor, and Khabib, but we have gone with the fighters with longevity at the top.

Our list of UFC champions were all heavy favorites when UFC odds were released, so they deserve the honor.

However, there is still time for current fighters to enter the list, especially if they win their fights on the upcoming UFC schedule.

1. Anderson Silva

No list of the Best UFC Fighters of All Time can be complete without mentioning Anderson “The Spider” Silva.

The Brazilian middleweight icon reigned supreme over the division for an unprecedented 2,457 days, the longest title reign in UFC history. Silva’s unorthodox striking and unparalleled precision made him a formidable opponent inside the cage.

With a highlight-reel knockout record and a seemingly impenetrable defense, Silva held an impressive 16 consecutive victories, solidifying his legacy as one of the most dominant fighters ever to grace the octagon.

He might have gotten rocked a few times towards the end of his career, but he was considered pound-for-pound one of the Best UFC Fighters of All Time during his reign.

2. Jon Jones

Jon “Bones” Jones is synonymous with light heavyweight dominance and has now entered the heavyweight ranks with devastation.

Blessed with an extraordinary reach and athleticism, Jones seemed virtually untouchable in the 205-pound division. Holding the record for the most title defenses in light heavyweight history, he took on the division’s best and emerged victorious time and again.

Though his career was not without controversy, Jones’s talent and achievements inside the octagon undoubtedly solidify his position as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history.

We expect Jones to continue dominating the heavyweight division after making Ciryl Gane look second-rate in his only heavyweight fight to date.

3. Amanda Nunes

There is little questioning that Amanda Nunes is one of the Best UFC Fighters of All Time.

Breaking barriers and setting new standards in women’s MMA, Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes is unquestionably one of the best in the business.

With a blend of knockout power and grappling prowess, Nunes has conquered two weight divisions: bantamweight and featherweight.

Her dominance in both divisions is underscored by victories over numerous UFC champions and legendary fighters.

Nunes continued to be an unstoppable force until her abrupt retirement, leaving no doubt about her legacy as the most dominant female fighter in the sport’s history.

4. Georges St-Pierre

Georges “Rush” St-Pierre, a Canadian martial artist, epitomizes the phrase “well-rounded fighter.”

As one of the greatest welterweights in UFC history, GSP showcased a versatile skill set encompassing impeccable wrestling, striking, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

He held the welterweight title on two separate occasions and successfully defended it nine times, a record yet to be surpassed.

His technical brilliance and tactical approach to each fight made him a crowd favorite, earning him a spot among the best ever to do it.

He rose to fame during the golden age of the UFC, which included names such as Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, who were responsible for many fans getting interested in the sport.

5. Demetrious Johnson

Johnson was a controversial pick for us, but it’s hard to look past his dominance in the flyweight division.

Often referred to as “Mighty Mouse,” Johnson made history as the UFC’s first and only flyweight champion.

Johnson’s unmatched speed, technique, and fight IQ made him a nightmare for opponents inside the octagon.

Holding the record for the most consecutive title defenses in UFC flyweight history, Johnson’s reign exemplified technical mastery and strategic brilliance.

His legacy is a testament to the significance of the lighter weight classes in the UFC.
