The ‘Notorious’ McGregor Is Set to Return to the Octagon in the Summer
McGregor ‘Got the Call,’ and a Summertime Scrap Is On!

The Irish Superstar Sends a Warning to Chandler
Finally, following an absence from competitive MMA action since 2021, Conor McGregor has confirmed his UFC return, and it’ll be during the summertime of 2024.
Conor McGregor announces his UFC return is now officially CONFIRMED 😱
“Chandler in the summer, I got great news. It’s all systems go. Got the call, thumbs up.”

Besides confirming a time frame and the opponent, McGregor hilariously threw some insults and, of course, sent a warning:
“Shut up, Michael, you f*cking imbecile,” McGregor said. “I’m going to bust him up. I’m going to bust Mike up, yeah. So, if I say it, I do it. If I say it, it gets done; end off!”
It was nice to see the fire lit inside of McGregor, and it’s even nicer that UFC news headlines won’t be discussing his out-of-octagon ventures and focussing on the important stuff… octagon wars involving the Irishman!
Pay-per-events and UFC fights, in general, have severely missed Mac’s presence, especially the build-ups and press conferences, as nobody can quite deliver a promo like “The Notorious”.

A Long Layoff and a Losing Record
Hopefully, the almost three-year layoff and co-star role in “Road House” won’t affect the head-hunting, highlight-reel, reel-hungry McGregor we know and love.
I couldn’t think of anything worse than waiting all this time for him to return and get smoked by someone like Chandler, who’s lost three of his previous four bouts.
It certainly feels like a layup fight for Conor, but Chandler is no easy night in the office, so the Mac needs to make sure he brings his A-game.

Aged 35, Conor McGregor’s record also involves three losses in his most recent three contests. Most recently, however, a leg injury prevented a rematch with Dustin Poirier playing out, something the world was desperate to witness after the Irish star had previously been on the wrong end of a TKO thanks to Dustin that same year (2021).
Conor McGregor’s next fight, albeit versus a tricky opponent, does give the former featherweight division king one notable advantage, and that’s in the striking realm.
Chandler has often relied on his wrestling background, and, while he does pack a punch, he doesn’t match up to the precision and footwork of his Irish foe from a technical standpoint.
Whether it’s at UFC 303 or UFC 306, all these questions will finally be answered this summer. Nothing beats a McGregor pay-per-view, and, aside from the fight itself, we’re all looking forward to build-up and promotional content in between.
