Cardinals vs Seahawks Betting Preview: Seattle’s Week 6 Recovery Quest

Seattle's Week 6 Miscues Don't Have HC Pete Carroll Worried

The Arizona Cardinals will take a trip to Seattle to face the Seahawks in an NFC West showdown.

Arizona has lost three straight NFL games and is sitting at 1-5 this season. However, the Cardinals just released good news that starting quarterback Kyler Murray has been designated to return from the Injured Reserve list.

Murray won’t play this week or anytime remotely soon. But this is the first step in ramping him back to game action.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

On the other hand, the Seahawks are 3-2 on the season after the Bengals snapped a three-game winning streak last weekend. Can the Seahawks get back on track at home against Arizona?

Murray Could Return To Practice This Week

Kyler Murray has been recovering from a torn ACL sustained last season. Because of that injury, he’s been unable to play for the Cardinals this season.

Many pinpointed this season as a rebuild, suggesting that Murray would never play a snap for the Cardinals again.

But it doesn’t seem that way anymore. Murray is probably a few weeks away from taking over the quarterback spot. He can finish out the second half of the year as Arizona’s quarterback. If he’s bad, the Cardinals can move on and select another quarterback prospect in the NFL draft.

They can strengthen other roster areas and hold onto Murray if he performs well.

The former Oklahoma quarterback has received a lot of criticism in his career. The Cardinals have never been elite with Murray at quarterback. Some believe that Murray doesn’t study the game like other quarterbacks. However, this will be his final chance to prove that he belongs as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Just ask all of the other NFL quarterbacks in the league. You don’t get many opportunities. It’ll be interesting to see how Murray attacks the game this year.

Pete Carroll Not Bothered By Loss To Bengals

The Seattle Seahawks watched a three-game win streak collapse against the Bengals last weekend.

The offense struggled as Geno Smith couldn’t get the passing game moving. Meanwhile, DK Metcalf was frustrated and picked up another 15-yard penalty.

But Pete Carroll insisted that everything would be fine.

Carroll backed up Smith, saying that the pressure got to him. While the criticism is understood, Carroll suggested it’s a team game; everyone could’ve done their parts better.

The offensive line was not very good against the Bengals. However, the Bengals certainly have a solid pass rush.

When it comes to Metcalf, he’s picked up plenty of 15-yard penalties in his career. Carroll said he’s spoken to Metcalf because those 15-yard penalties hurt the offense and its momentum in a game.

Sometimes, when he’s frustrated, he forgets to play football. He gets all worked up, and his concentration to detail goes out the window.

For Seahawks fans, the hope is that the offense can start to click again when they take on the Cardinals. If Arizona games continue to go how they’ve gone, Seahawks fans will be happy.

Cardinals vs Seahawks Betting Odds

The Seattle Seahawks are 7.5-point favorites against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Meanwhile, the total is currently set at 44.5.

Arizona is 1-9 in their last ten games from last year. The one win came against the Cowboys, at home, as an 11-point underdog. Unfortunately for Arizona, the Cardinals will be on the road against the Seahawks in this game.

Still, Arizona has covered three of six games this season and has watched four of those six games go over the total.

Conversely, the Seahawks have gone 3-2 against the spread but have hit the Under in three of five games. The Cardinals covered all three games where they won but have lost against the spread in the two games where they lost.

The last two games for Seattle have also gone Under the total.

Finally, the Seahawks have won three straight against the Cardinals despite being underdogs in all three of those games. Seattle also won by at least eight points in each of those games.

Seattle Will Get Back on Track!

The Seahawks have been solid offensively this season. They’ve averaged 350.6 yards per game, including nearly 250 yards in the air and over 100 yards on the ground. The run game could improve, but Geno Smith and the passing game should be electric against the Cardinals.

Smith has only thrown for five touchdowns but just three interceptions in five games.

Now he’ll face a Cardinals defense that doesn’t have much of anything but a solid pass rush. The Cardinals have given up nearly 400 yards per game on defense and 266.3 yards in the air.

Look for the Seahawks to have a significant day offensively, with nearly 400 yards gained on their own, to go along with multiple touchdowns.

Will The Cardinals Hang Around?

The Cardinals brought in Joshua Dobbs to hold down the season until Kyler Murray returned. Dobbs has a few more weeks to showcase his NFL stats.

The Seahawks have allowed 360.4 yards per game this season. However, 281.2 yards are coming in the air. Joshua Dobbs could have some success throwing the football if his offensive line holds up. That’s a big “if,” knowing that Seattle’s pass rush is strong up front.

With James Conner unavailable, the Cardinals no longer have much of a running game. That was the one piece that was electric before Conner was injured.

Arizona’s NFL football schedule will only get more challenging, knowing the level of defenses the Cardinals will face down the line. The best of Dobbs with the Cardinals is likely behind us.

Therefore, our NFL point spreads pick will be the Seahawks -7.5.
