Oddsmaker 2023 NFL Power Rankings: The New Kings of the Jungle
Upsets Shake Up Week 6 and Lead to New #1

While only four underdogs won and five covered their spreads, they were significant – at least enough to shake up our new oddsmaker 2023 NFL Power Rankings. The Browns and Jets beat the 49ers and Eagles, respectively, snapping their unbeaten streaks and leaving no perfect teams in the NFL. And the Giants, the NFL’s saddest offense, covered against Buffalo. Thanks to all of this, we’ve got a new top cat amongst a slew of other changes.
NFL Teams on How Rich (or Poor) They’ve Made You
With six weeks into the NFL season, undefeated teams are no more. Every team has cost its backers money at some point. And given how NFL Week 6 turned out, we’ll admit to having a tough time sorting out the rankings. Thus, several teams moved up a tier or fell two. It’s complicated. But you’ll understand that every team is right where they belong.
Top Tier: The Millionaire Makers
This tier looks a lot different than last week. San Francisco, despite getting upset, hangs on here. But our new top team, the Lions, have been nearly flawless. Since losing to Seattle, the Lions have won their last four games by two touchdowns or more. They’ve been a money train, along with Miami, which continues to destroy NFL scores. Detroit gets the edge thanks to a tougher strength of schedule.
Makin’ Money Tier: Sweating it Done
The teams on this tier have still been on the winning end on the NFL point spreads, mainly as favorites (except Buffalo). That’s what separates them from the lower tier (many can argue the underdogs deserve to be higher). Still, teams like Philadelphia and Kansas City are just a win and cover away from moving up.
Cleveland Browns (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Philadelphia Eagles (5-1; 3-2-1 ATS)
Kansas City Chiefs (5-1; 4-2 ATS)
Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2; 4-2 ATS)
Dallas Cowboys (4-2; 4-2 ATS)
Baltimore Ravens (4-2; 4-2 ATS)
Seattle Seahawks (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Buffalo Bills (4-2; 3-3 ATS)
Underdog Tier: Dogs Got Their Days
This should be everyone’s favorite tier as the flawed yet charming teams on here have made money mainly via the moneyline. We could divide this into two sub-tiers as the upper half here has been much more profitable than the lower half. Still, these dogs have been a wild ride on the 2023 NFL Power Rankings.
Los Angeles Rams (3-3; 4-1-1 ATS)
New York Jets (3-3; 4-2 ATS)
Houston Texans (3-3; 4-2 ATS)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Indianapolis Colts (3-3; 3-3 ATS)
Washington Commanders (3-3; 3-3 ATS)
Green Bay Packers (2-3; 3-2 ATS)
Bleh Tier: Barely Even or Losing Money
This is the purgatory of these odds-based 2023 NFL Power Rankings. Teams here are either moving up like Cincinnati and Las Vegas, winners of two straight, or moving down like Tennessee and Arizona. But backers would mainly be in the red supporting these teams every week.
Las Vegas Raiders (3-3; 3-3 ATS)
Cincinnati Bengals (3-3; 2-3-1 ATS)
Tennessee Titans (2-4; 3-3 ATS)
Arizona Cardinals (1-5; 3-3 ATS)
Los Angeles Chargers (2-3; 2-3 ATS)
New Orleans Saints (3-3; 1-4-1 ATS)
Atlanta Falcons (3-3; 1-5 ATS)
Worst Tier: The Bankroll Burners
These squads have been burning holes through the pockets of their backers. On the flip side, folks can continue fading them and make money that way. So check the NFL football schedule to see when to bet against these tragic outfits next.
Minnesota Vikings (2-4; 2-3-1 ATS)
Chicago Bears (1-5; 1-4-1 ATS)
New York Giants (1-5; 1-5 ATS)
New England Patriots (1-5; 1-5 ATS)
Denver Broncos (1-5; 0-5-1 ATS)
Carolina Panthers (0-6; 0-5-1 ATS)
