Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Future Odds: Super Bowl, Conference, Division, Regular Season Wins and Player Props
Lawrence, Jaguars Favored to Defend AFC South Crown

After catching much of the NFL by surprise last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars will enter the 2023-24 campaign with bigger goals and much, much bigger expectations. The defending AFC South champions are favored to repeat in their division, and that’s only the short of it. There’s a legitimate reason to be excited about the Jaguars, especially with a franchise quarterback now in place. Read on as we assess some key 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars stats in our team preview.

With Bigger Results Comes Bigger Expectations
Jacksonville made major strides in Year One under Doug Pederson, culminating in an AFC Divisional Round appearance. Projected for just 6.5 wins, the Jaguars greatly exceeded expectations, going 9-8 (6-1 over the last seven) and beating the Titans 20-16 in Week 18 to win the AFC South Division. They then rallied from a 27-point deficit to stun the Chargers 31-30 in the Wild Card round before falling 27-20 to the eventual Super Bowl champion Chiefs the following week.
Former No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence took a big step forward in his development under the innovative Pederson, throwing for 4,113 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. In addition to cutting down on the turnovers, Lawrence was more efficient. The additions of Christian Kirk and Evan Engram helped him improve his completion percentage from 59.6% to 66.3%. With most of their core returning, the Jaguars now face big expectations in 2023.
Super Bowl Odds: Is First Time the Charm?
Jacksonville has never won the Super Bowl in its relatively brief existence. In most years, the possibility isn’t even worth entertaining. The Jaguars, for example, were a +15000 Super Bowl pick last preseason, though they did end up making the playoffs. This isn’t one of those years. The Jaguars now have a franchise quarterback in Lawrence. On top of that, they should benefit from playing in arguably the NFL’s weakest division. Oh, and don’t forget, Pederson already has a Super Bowl on his resume. Getting by the likes of Kansas City, Buffalo, and Cincinnati in the AFC will be difficult, but the Jaguars at least stand a chance for a change. Progress.
Conference Odds: Jaguars in the Hunt
Until proven otherwise, the road to the AFC title runs through Kansas City. Realistically, the Jaguars should be on the shortlist of contenders. Again, that’s a vast improvement from last season, when they were +8000 in the preseason. Still, the AFC is loaded, and just getting back to the postseason would be an accomplishment worth celebrating when assessing the 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars stats.
Division Odds: Best of a So-So Bunch
The Jaguars were the best of a weak division in 2022, overcoming a 3-7 start to win the AFC South at +750 odds. This year, they’re a -150 favorite. It may take more than nine wins this time around, though the division is still relatively underwhelming. Tennessee regressed last season, and the Texans and Colts are both starting over with rookie quarterbacks. That rarely yields positive NFL results.
Regular Season Wins: Double-Digits Within Reach?
On the heels of its late-season surge, Jacksonville figures to be a trendy pick among bettors. Should you buy the hype? The Jaguars are projected for 9.5 wins, a figure they’ve hit just once in the last 15 seasons. They’ll benefit from their division, but the schedule is littered with potential roadblocks after a Week 1 trip to Indianapolis. Jacksonville is currently a 3.5-point favorite, per NFL lines. In addition to hosting Kansas City, San Francisco, Cincinnati, and Baltimore, the Jaguars have to visit Buffalo. That’s a tall order.
To Make Playoffs: It’s Boom or Bust
In making the playoffs for the first time since 2017, the Jaguars cashed in on +450 odds. This season, anything short of a return to the postseason would be a big disappointment.
Side Bets
Another year in Pederson’s offense should do wonders for Lawrence. At this point, it seems only a matter of when, not if, Lawrence, a first-time Pro Bowler in 2022, is in the conversation for NFL MVP. He’s currently priced at +1400 to win the coveted award, sharing odds with Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Expect Lawrence to post big 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars stats.
