Jared Goff Career Stats: QB Has Bounce Back Season in 2022
Detroit Quarterback One of Best in Game

Quarterback Jared Goff has gotten the job done. Whether it’s his record-setting days with the California Golden Bears or his time in the NFL, Jared Goff career stats are impressive. His NFL career didn’t start that way. His first year was rather ugly. But since then Goff has thrown for more than 3,200 yards each season.
College Career
Goff was widely recruited coming out of high school. He received numerous college offers before eventually choosing Cal. In 2013, Goff became the first true freshman in school history to start a season-opener at quarterback. Goff finished the year with 3,508 passing yards and 18 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.
Goff’s next two seasons were even better, throwing for 3,953 yards and 35 touchdowns as a sophomore. As a junior, he threw for 4,714 yards and 43 touchdowns, both Pac-12 records at the time. Goff helped the Golden Bears to their first bowl victory in seven years with a six-touchdown performance. He left school after the 2015 season to enter the NFL draft. In his three seasons at Cal, Jared Goff’s career stats show he set 26 Cal school records and finished with 12,195 passing yards for 96 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.
Los Angeles Rams
Goff was selected No. 1 overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2016 draft. After sitting on the bench for the first nine games of the 2016 season, Goff got his opportunity. But he struggled on the field, completing 54.6% of his passes for 1,089 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions. As a result, the Rams lost all seven games he started.
It was a different story in 2017. Entering the season as the starter, Goff threw for 3,804 yards, 28 touchdowns, and was intercepted seven times. Los Angeles was 11-4 in his 15 starts, winning the NFC West for the first time in 14 seasons. The Rams were 9-6 against the NFL lines in the regular season games Goff started.
Goff helped the Rams advance to the 2018 Super Bowl in a season that saw him throw for 4,688 yards and 32 touchdowns. However, the Patriots defeated the Rams 13-3 in a defensive battle.
Los Angeles missed the 2019 playoffs after going 9-7. Goff threw for 4,638 yards, but his touchdowns dropped to just 22. Goff was also intercepted 16 times.
The Rams returned to the playoffs in 2020. Los Angeles went 9-6 in the games Goff started. But he threw just 20 touchdowns and was intercepted 13 times while throwing for 3,952 yards. The Rams defeated Seattle in the playoffs. But the season came to an end the following week with a loss at Green Bay.
After the season, the Rams dealt Goff and three draft picks to Detroit for quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Detroit Lions
Goff missed several games in the 2021 season after landing on the COVID-19 reserve list. He started 14 games, throwing for just 19 touchdowns and 3,245 yards. Therefore, the Lions were only 3-10-1 when Goff started.
Goff had a bounce-back season in 2022, throwing for 4,438 yards and 29 touchdowns against seven interceptions. It was his highest quarterback rating since 2018. More importantly, the Lions were on the right side of the NFL scoreboard nine times. It was the team’s first winning season in five years.
Career Numbers
Jared Goff career stats show 2,250 completions in 3,502 attempts, which is a 64.2% completion rate. Goff has thrown for 25,854 yards and 155 touchdowns. He has been intercepted 70 times.
Goff’s teams are 54-45-1 in the games he’s started. However, that also includes the dismal 0-7 mark of the Rams in his rookie season.
