2023-24 English Premier League Odds Update

Man City Drop Two Straight

Big Ange’s Tottenham Top the Table

Things looked bleak for Tottenham Hotspur after the departure of Harry Kane. Spurs, under Ange Postecoglou, have exceeded all expectations so far and are on top of the Premier League table after eight games. In fact, they and North London rivals Arsenal are the only unbeaten teams in the league. Still, Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool all look like they can contend for the title this season. With City on a two-game losing streak, we’ll take an updated look at the 2023-24 English Premier League odds.

Top Title Contenders

Manchester City, unsurprisingly, are still the favorites to win their fourth straight Premier League title. Rodri has been suspended for the last three domestic contests and City have lost all of them. The defensive midfielder’s importance to Pep Guardiola’s side has been laid bare with him out of the team. Captain Kevin de Bruyne also figures to be out for the next month or so.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

City opened up the season at -160 2023-24 English Premier League odds to defend their title, and now they’re -140 favorites. They’re just two points behind Tottenham and Arsenal and will be motivated following the international break. Should any of their other vital players be out for an extended period, winning a fourth straight league crown could be a challenge.

Arsenal very nearly won the title last season but collapsed in the home stretch, especially when center-back William Saliba went down injured. They’ve certainly looked like contenders so far, and are 6-2-0 as things stand. The recent win over Manchester City removed a huge monkey off their backs, as they hadn’t defeated Man City in an EPL match since 2015.

Declan Rice has added some much-needed bite to Arsenal’s midfield, and the Gunners currently sit at +400 odds to win the title. That corresponds to an implied 20 percent chance of a victory, and they opened the season at +700. Arsenal are also priced at -500 odds to make the top four for consecutive seasons under Mikel Arteta.

Dark Horses

Liverpool disappointed heavily in the 2022-23 season but should be back among England’s best this time around. Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost just once through eight matches and are only three points from first place. Mohamed Salah has already registered nine goal contributions, and Dominik Szoboszlai has played a key role since joining from RB Leipzig.

Liverpool is an especially solid pick to bet on soccer when playing at home at Anfield. They’re currently 3-0 at home and have outscored their opponents 9-2 there. Liverpool shows +800 odds to win their first EPL championship since 2020 and are widely expected to make the top four. They come in at -400 top four odds after opening up the season at -150.

Tottenham are incredibly in first place in the English Premier League standings with eight games in the books. Ange Postecoglou has become a media darling in his short time in England, and his players have also done the talking on the pitch. Spurs have already taken on Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool and are unbeaten at 6-2-0. For the time being, they’re ahead of Arsenal in the table solely on goals scored.

Tottenham opened the season at even odds to make the top six, they certainly weren’t discussed as title contenders. Now, the oddsmakers price them at +1100 to win the league and +125 to make the top four. Son Heung-min has been stellar since being named Tottenham captain. Harry Kane’s former sidekick has already scored six goals, while new signing James Maddison leads the league with five assists.

Top Four Contenders

Newcastle recently managed an outstanding 4-1 win over PSG in the Champions League, which certainly sent a message. The Magpies are here to stay and not just a one-season wonder. Eddie Howe’s side have faced a difficult early-season Premier League schedule but are now unbeaten in their last four games. Newcastle displays +4000 odds to win the EPL and +150 odds to make the top four again.

Brighton qualified for European competition for the first time last season. Now, Roberto de Zerbi’s side are aiming for the Champions League. They’re just one point outside the top four and are priced at +6600 odds to win the EPL. Making the top four would be a crowning achievement for the Seagulls, and that stands at +350 odds.

Manchester United’s English Premier League results have been underwhelming so far, and they’re in just 10th place. Erik ten Hag hasn’t been able to get the best out of his players, and they’re also in last place in their Champions League group. New goalkeeper Andre Onana hasn’t settled in yet, but United could still turn things around. The Red Devils show +8000 EPL odds and +350 odds to make the top four.

Mauricio Pochettino is clearly going to need some time to put all of Chelsea’s moving parts together. The Blues finished in a previously unimaginable 12th place last season and are in 11th as things stand. Injuries and the lack of a prolific goalscorer are two major obstacles to Chelsea’s challenging this season. The odds list Chelsea at +8000 to win the title and +400 to finish in the top four.

At +700 top four odds, Aston Villa is our favorite dark horse bet to qualify for the Champions League. Unai Emery has completely turned the club around since taking over last year.

Relegation Picture

Two teams, who were both recently promoted, are massive favorites to go back down to the EFL Championship. At -700 2023-24 English Premier League odds to be relegated, it could be a long season for both Luton Town and Sheffield United. Luton Town are just outside of the relegation zone on goal difference, but a look at their roster reveals a lack of game-changers. They’ve scored just six times in eight matches so far but just signed free-agent winger Andros Townsend.

Sheffield United and Bournemouth are the only two teams who haven’t won a game so far. The Blades have taken just one point from their first eight games and are in trouble. Pressure is building on new Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, and the Cherries sit at +175 relegation odds as things stand. Burnley show the same odds, but last year’s EFL Championship winners have a lot of young talents that should adjust as the season goes on.

Everton have been close to relegation in each of the last two seasons but are hanging around. Sean Dyche will prioritize defense, which means the Toffees have a solid shot to stay in the league. They’re +325 underdogs to be relegated. Wolverhampton Wanderers coach Gary O’Neil helped Bournemouth stay up last season, and he’ll look to do the same with Wolves.

Wolves will do the best they can to hold onto joint-EPL assist leader Pedro Neto in January, and they’re priced at +550 odds to go down. Nottingham Forest and Fulham come in at +600 and +700 relegation odds, respectively. However, both teams have more than enough talent to get over the line this season.
