MLS Week 16 Odds: Matches on Wednesday
Charlotte FC at +430, A Steal!
It’s another week with two matchdays being played on Wednesday and Saturday! Last week, we had a six-goal thriller in New England, a resurging Sporting KC side dominated the Timbers, and Nashville continued its hot streak. MLS Week 16 should bring us even more excitement than last week!
Here is everything you need to know about the MLS Week 16 matches on Wednesday.
Current MLS Standings
Near the top of the tables, there was little change except for an exciting development in the West. However, the bottom halves of the tables saw some shake-ups that could lead to better things for those teams.
With a win at home against NY Red Bulls, the Seattle Sounders stay on the top of the West, but LACF is hot on their tails with three games in hand. Interestingly enough, St. Louis CITY SC got a big win against the Vancouver Whitecaps, taking them to second place with two games in hand.
In the East, after yet another fantastic showing, FC Cincinnati proves its dominance in the East and leads the Supporter’s Shield race. Charlotte FC has started to turn things around as they keep moving higher and higher.

Top Five Goals and Assists Going into MLS Week 16
After a nine-match dry spell, Seattle’s Jordan Morris finally got his goal to move back to second in the Golden Boot race. However, LAFC’s Denis Bouanga stays at the top with ten goals. Jesús Ferreira also remained in the top five and could cement himself there. Nashville SC’s Hany Mukhtar scored another goal to make it nine and tied for second.
In the assist category, the top five stayed the same, except Hany Mukhtar notched another assist to make it five on the season. The German is in fine form and could be one to watch going forward.

Key MLS Week 16 Matches
While the matchups for MLS week 16 are not the most entertaining at first glance, there are still two key matches everyone betting on MLS should watch this weekend.
Those two matches are NYCFC vs. FC Cincinnati and Philadelphia Union vs. Charlotte FC.
NYCFC vs. FC Cincinnati @ 4:30 PDT
NYCFC lost their first home game of the season last week against Philadelphia, and they face another formidable opponent this week in Cincinnati. With NYCFC being winless in five, including four losses, it will be challenging to see them get a result against the league-leading team.
Cincinnati is five points clear in the Supporter’s Shield race and is one of the strongest teams in the league. They won on the road versus Colorado last week, so expect more of the same this week. There is no good reason to bet against Cincinnati’s momentum continuing this week against a struggling NYCFC team.
Philadelphia Union vs. Charlotte FC @ 4:30 PDT
The Union has only lost once in their last nine league games, and although they played several weaker teams in this run, they scored an impressive 3-1 on the road in New York last week following a decisive 3-0 win over New England in the previous game. Therefore, look for the Union to take control of this game at home.
However, Charlotte is coming off a 1-0 win over the LA Galaxy and has moved into the middle of the playoff pack. They have four wins in their last five league matches and will want to keep that momentum going as they play a strong Union squad. For an outstanding payout, our bet is on Charlotte FC at +430.
