We’re no closer to naming a Bundesliga champion with just three matches left to go. Contenders Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both picked up wins on Matchday 31, with Dortmund particularly convincing. BVB blew out Wolfsburg 6-0 on Sunday to stay just one point behind Bayern Munich. Both Dortmund and Bayern are favorites for their matchups this weekend and both teams certainly need wins. Meanwhile, seven teams can still be relegated to the 2. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest matches of the weekend as we preview the Bundesliga Matchday 32 odds.
Games of the Week:
Bayern Munich vs Schalke 04

The combined scoreline in the last six matches Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 have played against each other is 23-0. The Bavarians have also won the last 11 meetings across all competitions and haven’t lost to Schalke since 2010. Thomas Tuchel’s side will be confident of extending their streak vs Schalke on Saturday as they pursue an 11th straight Bundesliga title. Although Schalke are just two points outside of the relegation zone, they have won three of their last four matches in the Bundesliga. They currently sit in 15th place in the Bundesliga standings.
Oddsmakers certainly aren’t confident about Schalke 04 getting a fourth win in five. They come in as 2.5-goal underdogs for Saturday’s match. Bayern is both ATS and moneyline favorite. Bayern -2.5 shows -120 odds, while Schalke +2.5 currently displays even odds. The Bavarians also come in as -825 moneyline favorites while Schalke is a +1500 underdog. Schalke 04 are winless in their last 24 matches vs Bayern Munich and that streak hasn’t come close to being broken recently. A draw also sits at +900 odds for this match and that could be a fatal result for Bayern in the title race.
Both teams are dealing with injuries coming into this one. Bayern’s Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, Josip Stanisic, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting all missed the 2-1 win over Werder Bremen. Gnabry has been a solid replacement for Choupo-Moting recently as he’s scored twice in his last two appearances. Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernandez have also been out for the last few months with long-term injuries. Schalke is hoping defenders Cedric Brunner and Moritz Jenz can recover from injuries in time to take part in this one. Regardless, this is expected to be a goal-fest. The latest odds price over four goals at -115 but none of Bayern’s last six Bundesliga games have gone over four.
Union Berlin vs SC Freiburg

This is one of the most important remaining matches of the Bundesliga season. Fourth-placed Union Berlin and fifth-placed SC Freiburg are currently level on points. The only thing separating them is the goal difference, which puts Union ahead. With both teams fighting for a first-ever Champions League berth, Union hosts Freiburg on Saturday. Both squads lost on Matchday 31, as Union Berlin fell 1-0 at Augsburg and Freiburg lost at home to RB Leipzig for a second time in a five-day span.
The Bundesliga Matchday 32 odds list Union Berlin as 0.5-goal favorites at home, where they still haven’t lost in the Bundesliga this season. Union displays both +115 ATS and moneyline odds. Union has the best defensive record in the league this season but scoring has been a problem lately. Over their last five matches, they’ve scored just three goals. Freiburg have been better on the offensive end, with 1.4 goals per game over their last five and three wins in their last four league games. SC Freiburg won the reverse fixture 4-1 but are just 0-2-1 in three previous Bundesliga matches at Union Berlin.
So, Freiburg enters the match as +235 underdogs but SCF +0.5 does come in at -135 odds. It’s crucial that Freiburg avoid defeat here as it could spell an end to their UCL hopes. Two of the last five meetings have finished in draws and another one is priced at +225 odds for this match. While Union Berlin has a clean bill of health, Noah Weisshaupt, and Ritsu Doan are doubts for Freiburg here. With two of the best defenses in the league on display on Saturday, the over/under goal total is currently two. Over two goals come in at -130 odds and the last two meetings have both finished with five goals.
Dortmund vs Borussia M´Gladbach

Taking a look at both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich’s remaining Bundesliga schedules, it’s Dortmund who has the more favorable fixtures. While Bayern still has to take on RB Leipzig, Dortmund closes out with Borussia Monchengladbach, Augsburg, and Mainz. On Saturday, they’ll contest the Borussen Derby vs Gladbach needing another win. Karim Adeyemi and Jude Bellingham both scored twice on Matchday 31 and Dortmund have now scored in 17 straight Bundesliga matches. This has often been a high-scoring fixture but under four goals come in at -130 odds.
Last weekend, Borussia Monchengladbach managed a 2-0 win over relegation candidates VfL Bochum. It was Gladbach’s first Bundesliga shutout victory since September. They did, however, defeat Dortmund in the reverse fixture, 4-2. Still, Dortmund has been victorious in their last nine home matches vs Gladbach. In a must-win match for Dortmund, Edin Terzic’s side are 1.5-goal favorites and show -130 odds to cover. Gladbach +1.5 currently displays +110 odds and they lost 6-0 on the road to Dortmund last season.
Dortmund are also a -310 home favorite as they have multiple players in excellent form. Seven of Donyell Malen’s eight goals this season have come in the last seven Bundesliga matches. Karim Adeyemi has also scored three times in the last two matches and Raphael Guerreiro leads the league with 12 assists. Monchengladbach has one of the league’s leading scorers, Marcus Thuram, but the French international is injured. His replacement, Alassane Plea, is also suspended for this match. So, Gladbach is +625 underdogs and a draw displays +525 odds.
RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen

RB Leipzig had an excellent week last week. They dominated SC Freiburg to the tune of a 5-1 win on the road in the DFB-Pokal Semifinal. Four days later, they went on the road to Freiburg in the Bundesliga and came away with another win as Kevin Kampl scored the game’s only goal. With the wins, Leipzig is in their third straight DFB-Pokal final and is back in the Bundesliga top four. Third-placed Leipzig is just one point ahead of fifth-placed Freiburg, though. So, Marco Rose’s Leipzig will certainly be going for all three points vs Werder Bremen on Sunday.
Werder Bremen have lost three of their last four Bundesliga matches and have slipped to 12th place in the standings. They’re still not technically safe from relegation but are seven points outside of the danger zone right now. Their poor form has coincided with an injury to the Bundesliga’s leading scorer, Niclas Fullkrug. He’s missed the last four matches with a calf problem but could be an option on Sunday. The Bundesliga Matchday 32 odds list Leipzig as 1.5-goal favorites heading into this match. They show -130 odds to cover and -330 odds to win the match.
Meanwhile, Werder +1.5 displays +110 odds and the visitors are +750 moneyline underdogs. They’re currently on a six-game losing streak vs RB Leipzig across all competitions, as well. Werder’s road matches this season have been the highest-scoring in the Bundesliga, averaging 3.8 goals. Still, under 3.5 goals are priced at -135 odds for this match. With Union Berlin taking on SC Freiburg this weekend, Leipzig will finish the weekend in the top four no matter the result. Still, a draw comes in at +500 odds for Sunday’s match.
