Bundesliga Matchday 30 Odds, Preview

Dortmund Take Over Top Spot

Bayern Munich’s Woes Continue

Borussia Dortmund will win their first Bundesliga title since 2012 if they win their last five matches. With Bayern Munich’s recent 3-1 loss to Mainz, Dortmund took over the top spot in the Bundesliga. In addition to their league aspirations, Dortmund will also have their sights set on the DFB Pokal, as they aim to secure success on multiple fronts this season. Thomas Tuchel’s tenure at Bayern has started off quite poorly, as the Bavarians are winless in their last four matches, in all competitions. If Bayern fail to pick things up, they’re in serious danger of having their title streak, (which stands at 10) finally broken. While Bayern and Dortmund are both in action this weekend, Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen is the pick of the bunch. We’ll cover some important Bundesliga Matchday 30 odds in this weekend’s preview.

Match of the Week:

FCU Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen B04

Date & Time:

Two of the Bundesliga’s best teams will meet on Saturday when Union Berlin host Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen, in particular, have been excellent over the last few months but Union are in third place in the table. When Xabi Alonso took over Leverkusen late last year, they were in the relegation zone.

Now, they’ve climbed all the way to sixth and could still qualify for the Champions League. Leverkusen enter the weekend on a 13-match unbeaten run in all competitions and defeated RB Leipzig 2-0 over the weekend.

On the other hand, Sheraldo Becker scored the winning goal as Union downed Monchengladbach 1-0 on Sunday. In one of Xabi Alonso’s first matches as coach, Bayer did beat Union 5-0, though. Heading into this match, they’re favorites once again. In this pick’em, Bayer Leverkusen show -130 odds to cover and Union Berlin come in at +110 ATS odds.

Bayer have won six of their last seven Bundesliga matches in the league and have also advanced to the UEFA Europa League Semifinal. As a result, they show +145 odds to win Saturday’s match and Union are +190 underdogs. Three of the last four meetings have finished in draws and another displays +230 odds.

Union forward Kevin Behrens is suspended for the match but he’s regularly started alongside Sheraldo Becker lately. Leverkusen’s key attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz missed the match vs RB Leipzig last week but is expected to return from an illness in time.

Patrik Schick is out for Bayer, while Exequiel Palacios and Edmond Tapsoba are questionable. Notably, Union Berlin are one of only two remaining Bundesliga teams unbeaten at home. They’ve conceded just nine goals at home and under 2.5 goals stand at -125 odds here.

Other Top-Four Matches:

BOCVfL Bochum vs Borussia Dortmund BVB

Date & Time:

Borussia Dortmund are back at the top of the Bundesliga table and have a favorable remaining Bundesliga schedule. They don’t face any opponents above seventh place in the Bundesliga standings in their last five matches. This Friday, they head on the road to Bochum, who are in 15th place and attempting to avoid relegation.

Bochum are just two points ahead of Stuttgart, who currently occupy the relegation playoff spot. Bochum got destroyed by Wolfsburg last weekend, 5-1 and currently have the league’s worst goal difference.

The Bundesliga Matchday 30 odds price Dortmund as one-goal favorites following a dominant 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Dortmund come in at -120 odds to cover the spread and they’ve been scoring goals in bunches lately. They’ve averaged over three goals per game over their last five Bundesliga contests.

Donyell Malen has scored in each of those matches, in which Dortmund are 3-1-1. Over three goals sit at -135 odds and Bochum home matches have averaged nearly 3.6 goals per game this season. Bochum +1 is currently priced at even odds, while the home side stand at +420 moneyline odds.

Dortmund are -190 moneyline favorites for Friday’s match but could be missing Nico Schlotterbeck after he re-aggravated his thigh. Attacker Jamie Bynoe-Gittens recently returned from a long-term injury, though. Earlier this season, Dortmund defeated Bochum 2-1 as Marco Reus and Emre Can scored.

BVB have the Bundesliga’s leading set up man, Raphael Guerreiro, who has registered 12 assists to this point. Just one of the last seven meetings between these teams have finished in draws but a draw is priced at +375 odds.

KOE Koln vs SC Freiburg SCF

Date & Time:

FC Koln are unbeaten in their last four matches ahead of Saturday’s clash with SC Freiburg. Koln are in 11th place and it’s very unlikely they can qualify for European competition this season. However, they can play a role in spoiling SC Freiburg’s Champions League hopes.

Freiburg are currently in fourth place, which would be enough to participate in next season’s UCL. However, they’ve never played in the competition before and are just two points ahead of fifth-placed Leipzig.

Bundesliga predictions are split on whether Freiburg will pull it off and every match from here on out is crucial. Michael Gregoritsch scored twice last weekend as Freiburg took down Schalke 4-0. Gregoritsch and Vincenzo Grifo have both reached double digit goals this season, while no Koln player has scored more than six times.

Koln did get on the board three times in their win vs Hoffenheim last Saturday, though. Under 2½ goals come in at -125 odds for Friday’s match.

The odds list this match as a pick’em and Koln are favorites, despite losing 2-0 to Freiburg earlier this season. Koln pk displays -145 odds, while Freiburg pk sits at +125. Freiburg have been one of the better road teams this season, with a 6-4-4 record away from home.

However, they’re +205 underdogs. Koln are +135 favorites at home, where they’ve won just five of their 14 matches this season. A draw also comes in at +230 odds.

FCB Bayern Munich vs Hertha Berlin BSC

Date & Time:

Bayern Munich lost for just the fourth time this season as Mainz came away with a 3-1 victory last Saturday. They’re now one point behind rivals Dortmund and potentially need to win out to have a chance to take home the title.

Bayern haven’t lost two straight Bundesliga matches all season and they’re certainly expected to bounce back here. Bayern take on Hertha, who are in last place and at serious risk of relegation. The Bundesliga Matchday 30 odds price Bayern at -750 odds as they look to get just their third win in eight matches under Thomas Tuchel.

No team has come close to scoring as much as Bayern this season but that hasn’t always translated to results. Under four goals show -130 odds for Sunday’s match but the last three meetings have finished with five or more goals.

Bayern defeated Hertha 3-2 in Berlin earlier this season and Hertha have conceded nine goals in their last two matches. Bayern are massive 2.5-goal favorites for this one and come in at -105 odds to cover. They have won their last six matches vs Hertha and three of those have come by a three-goal margin or more.

Hertha are winless in their last seven matches but do display -115 odds to cover the spread here. They’ve managed to keep recent matches vs Freiburg and Leipzig reasonably close but have lost their last three matches.

Hertha are +1400 road underdogs and have only won one match away from home all season. They’ve also failed to win a match in Munich for over 30 years. A draw is viewed as unlikely, as it currently stands at +800 odds in this must-win match for both sides.
