MLB Monday Results: Underdogs Rule the Day
Dogs Win 7 of 11 on Memorial Day
The MLB Monday results show underdogs were an impressive 7-4 for the day. A $100 flat-bet on all 11 underdogs returned a profit of $542 for the day. Underdogs are out-performing favorites this season, but are still showing a flat-bet loss of $483.
Totals went 5-5-1 on Monday. After a slow start that saw the first four games land under the total, scoring picked up in the late games. Totals are now 390-382-32 on the season. With four teams being held scoreless Monday, there have now been 116 shutouts this season.
Guardians Blank Baltimore
Logan Allen turned in an impressive seven innings against the Orioles. Allen allowed three hits and struck out 10 in leading Cleveland to a 5-0 victory in Baltimore. It was the fourth time the Orioles have been held scoreless in May. The MLB odds on the game had Cleveland +118.
Stroman Outduels Bradley
The MLB Monday results show Chicago Cubs defeated Tampa Bay in a game that featured just four base hits. Marcus Stroman pitched a complete game, allowing just one hit and fanning eight in earning the victory.
The only hit for the Rays was Wander Franco’s seventh-inning single. Taj Bradley was solid for Tampa, allowing just an unearned run in the fourth before being lifted in the sixth inning. A Mike Tauchman sacrifice fly accounted for the game’s only run.
Twins Rally at Houston
The Minnesota Twins were down to their last out before rallying to defeat the Houston Astros in extra innings. Jose Altuve’s seventh-inning grand slam gave Houston a 5-4 lead.
The Astros had two outs in the top of the ninth when Royce Lewis hit a run-scoring single to tie the game. The Twins won it with a Ryan Jeffers two-run home run in the top of the 10th.
Bolton Has Brutal Outing in Bay Area
It was a forgettable day for Pittsburgh pitcher Cody Bolton. After the Pirates scored twice in the top of the seventh to pull within 6-3 against the Giants, Bolton entered the game.
The first five Giants to face him had base hits and he exited the game after allowing eight runs and recording just one out. The Giants went on to win 14-4.
Oakland Knocks Off Atlanta
The Oakland A’s picked up a rare win against a quality team on Monday, defeating Atlanta 7-2. The A’s are now 7-37 this MLB season when playing a team with a record above .500.
Ryan Noda had a home run and drove in three runs to lead the A’s. Oakland is just 1-9 this season after a victory.
Joyce Makes MLB Debut For Angels
The Monday MLB results show prized rookie Ben Joyce made his Major League debut for the Angels against the White Sox.
Joyce entered the game in the seventh inning with the Angels leading 4-3. He allowed one hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning. Joyce hit 102 miles-per-hour on the radar gun. The Angels won 6-4.
Judge Homers Twice For Yankees
Aaron Judge homered twice for the Bronx Bombers and robbed Seattle’s Teoscar Hernandez of a homer. The Yankees cruised to a 10-4 win after pounding out 18 base hits.
It was the AL-leading 17th home run home for Judge, who made a leaping catch over the right-field wall in the eighth to rob Hernandez of a round-tripper.
