Ravens, Bears, Steelers Making Moves in NFL Free Agency

Some Movement to Monitor in NFL Post-Free Agency Team Odds

Quarterback Carousel Impacting 2024 Super Bowl Title Odds

There was plenty of player movement during free agency with newly signed Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, New York Jets offensive tackle Tyron Smith, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Houston Texans edge rusher Danielle Hunter, and Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins among the players changing teams.

The signings have impacted the NFL post-free agency team odds as the pecking order of some of the Super Bowl contenders has been impacted after the flood of signings.

The next stage when it comes to finalizing the rosters will be the preparations for the NFL Draft as teams look to close the gap on the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, the teams favored in the Super Bowl odds.

Keep on reading for more on the changing Super Bowl odds as moves are being made to deny the Chiefs a third-straight Super Bowl title.

Little Change At the Top

The Kansas City Chiefs topped the San Francisco 49ers to win the most recent Super Bowl. While there have been some moved for both teams, the NFL team odds post-free agency have the Chiefs and 49ers both priced at +600 to win the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs addressed the receiver position with the addition of Marquise Brown, one of the fastest players in the NFL. Brown could take a huge step with former NFL Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball.

San Francisco released defensive tackle Arik Armstead and added edge rusher Leonard Floyd but was pretty quiet in the free-agency frenzy. Keep that in mind when it comes the NFL scores and odds going into the 2024 season.

AFC Could be Wild

Four of the six teams with the best odds of winning the Super Bowl come from the AFC so the race for contenders to dethrone the Chiefs could be fun to watch.

With Baltimore adding star running back Derrick Henry, the odds to win the Super Bowl are at +900 in the NFL post-free agency team odds. Henry and quarterback Lamar Jackson could dominate the NFL stats during the 2024 season as the Ravens have two of the best runners in the NFL.

The Buffalo Bills are priced at +1200 to win the Super Bowl with the Cincinnati Bengals at +1400.

The odds for the Miami Dolphins have gone from +2200 to +2000 while the additions of quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields saw the championship odds for the Pittsburgh Steelers going from +6000 to +5000. The Steelers also added linebacker Patrick Queen.

A Bear Market

While the Chicago Bears aren’t among the top challengers in the NFL, they are certainly trending in the right direction after acquiring receiver Keenan Allen, safety Kevin Byard, running back D’Andre Swift, and tight end Gerald Everett.
The Bears also re-signed star cornerback Jaylon Jones and that helped the odds for the Bears to win the Super Bowl go from +3500 to +3000 when looking at the NFL post-free agency team odds.

The Bears also have picks No. 1 and 9 in the upcoming NFL Draft so there could be more movement in the odds for the Bears before the 2024 NFL season gets underway.

The Bears are being linked with former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams out of Southern California.

After San Francisco, the best odds for NFC teams are the Detroit Lions at +1200, the Philadelphia Eagles (+1600), the Dallas Cowboys (+1800), and the Green Bay Packers (+2000).

The New York Giants are headed in the wrong direction, moving from +10000 to +12500.

Ready to Catch On?

The Los Angeles Chargers have relied on the receiving tandem of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Allen was traded to the Chicago Bears while Williams signed with the New York Jets after being let go by the Chargers.

With running back Austin Ekeler also moving on, things will look much different in Jim Harbaugh’s first season with the Chargers after leading the University of Michigan to the national title with a much younger group of offensive skill position players surrounding quarterback Justin Herbert.

The good news for the Chargers is that star pass rushers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa will be returning to the Chargers.

More Work to Be Done

There are still some players that could impact the Super Bowl odds with veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore, edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney, safeties Justin Blackmon, and Justin Simmons, as well as defensive end Calais Campbell.

Blackmon is the only one of that group still in his 20s.
Wilkins, Hunter, Barkley, edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, and receiver Calvin Ridley are among the players in the 20s who changed teams.

Stay tuned because things could get even more interesting as NFL teams continue to make roster changes with the hopes of making noise in the NFL championship chase.
