NFL Draft Odds: Likely NFL Teams’ Draft Picks Up for Action
Quarterbacks Expected to Come off Board Quickly in Upcoming Draft

Raiders, Seahawks Could Hold Key Picks in 2023 NFL Draft
Welcome to the rumor mill season in the NFL.
With less than a month before the NFL Draft, misinformation will be spread by multiple teams. In a draft when quarterbacks will be taken early on, it will be interesting to see which teams decide to use high picks on a quarterback of the future and which ones will stick to the best player available. There will be decisions that need to be made when it comes to NFL draft team picks.
Quarterbacks C.J. Stroud of Ohio State, Bryce Young of Alabama and Anthony Richardson of Florida come in at -300, +225 and +800 in the odds to be the top overall pick.
If the odds are accurate, Alabama edge rusher – Will Anderson, could be the first non-quarterback to be selected. The biggest question mark is what will happen with former Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter? Carter is considered to be one of the most talented players in the draft.
However, he was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of a former teammate and Georgia staff member and he could see his draft stock take a tumble.
The NFL draft order has been shaken up as five of the top 10 picks have already changed hands and more deals could be coming.
Here’s a look at how some of the teams in key spots in the draft might proceed in the first round and some of the 2023 NFL Draft odds to keep an eye on.
Falcons Getting Defensive
The Atlanta Falcons have used their top pick on an offensive player four times in the last five drafts. With receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts being selected by Atlanta in the top 10 in the last two drafts, perhaps this is the time for the Falcons to address a defense that finished 23rd in scoring defense and 27th in total defense.
The price is set at +150 for the Falcons to either take a cornerback to play across from A.J. Terrell or add a defensive lineman.
When looking at NFL draft team picks, will the Falcons take a chance on Carter?
If Atlanta goes for an offensive player, the best odds are for it to be an offensive lineman.
Bear Market
Chicago could have had the pick of any player in the draft if the Bears decided to stand pat. Instead, Chicago dealt the No. 1 overall pick to Carolina in return for star receiver DJ Moore and multiple draft picks, including the ninth overall pick.
The Bears made it clear that they are committed to Justin Fields as the quarterback by making that trade.
Anybody who saw Fields and the Bears play last season won’t be surprised that the odds are set at -140 for the selection to be an offensive lineman.
It seems unlikely that Ohio State’s Paris Johnson would fall to No. 9 so perhaps Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski or Georgia’s Broderick Jones could be the pick.
Defensive line (+225), cornerback (+500) and receiver (+700) are other options.
Lions Ready to Roar
It is time for the Detroit Lions to address the defense and when looking at NFL draft team picks, it would be a surprise if an offensive player is the top pick of the Lions.
Cornerback (-110) and defensive line (-115) are the most likely options for the Lions.
There are players at both positions worthy of going sixth overall so will Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez, Texas Tech lineman Tyree Wilson or Carter be the name of the newest Detroit Lion?
Ready to Catch On
It would be rather ironic that after years of passing on pass catchers in the first round when Aaron Rodgers was at quarterback that the Packers finally head in that direction with Rodgers likely on the way out of town.
Tight end (+175) and receiver (+225) lead the way of possible positions of choice followed by offensive line at +250.
The Packers are set to pick 15th overall. TCU’s Quentin Johnston, considered to be the top pass catcher in the draft, could land with the Packers.
What Will the Raiders Do?
This would be the perfect spot for the late, great Al Davis to come back and make the seventh overall pick.
Will the Raiders pick their quarterback of the future with Derek Carr now in New Orleans and former 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo brought in at quarterback? Will it be the No. 7 pick or do the Raiders trade up?
Offensive line (+275), cornerback (+300) and defensive line (+300) are other positions to keep an eye on.
Plenty of Options for Belichick
New England finds itself picking 14th and good luck trying to figure out what head coach Bill Belichick will do.
Offensive line (+175), cornerback (+225) and receiver (+325) lead the list of potential positions for the Patriots to try to upgrade the roster.
It is interesting that despite rumors about quarterback Mac Jones’ future with the Patriots, the price is at +8000 for New England to take a quarterback in the first round.
Giant Dilemma
The New York Giants turned the corner last season with Brian Daboll taking over as the head coach. The Giants used first-round selections on offensive tackle Evan Neal and edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. Now it might be time to get quarterback Daniel Jones a big-play threat at receiver.
The Giants don’t pick until No. 25 so the direction they go could be determined by other teams.
With -120 odds, taking a receiver could be the way to go. Cornerback (+500), offensive line (+600), safety (+700) and defensive line (+900) are other ways that the Giants could proceed.
Go Big Or Go Home
The thought that the No. 13 overall pick could part of a trade for Rodgers seem to be fading a bit. Assuming that the Jets pick in the middle of the first round, the feeling is that the Jets will look to upgrade in the trenches.
Offensive line (-285) and defensive line (+200) are the two spots that the Jets figure to address. Mekhi Becton’s days could be numbered so taking another offensive tackle early on is a definite possibility.
NFC Champions Look to Take the Next Step
The Philadelphia Eagles almost ended the last season as Super Bowl champions. Free agency did cost the Eagles some key players so which way will Philadelphia decide to go with the 10th overall pick, which was acquired from New Orleans is an interesting debate.
The Eagles used a first-round pick on defensive tackle Jordan Davis and the odds (-160) are in favor of them doubling up on the position with cornerback (+275) and offensive line (+450) next up in the pecking order.
A pass rusher could make an outstanding defense even tougher to deal with so watch out for edge rushers when the Eagles are on the clock.
Could Seahawks Take a QB Early?
The emergence of Geno Smith as a productive quarterback was one of the most improbable stories in the NFL.
Will the Seahawks count on Smith in the future? There are +250 odds for Seattle to take a passer with the fifth pick. That is part of the haul that Seattle got from Denver in exchange for quarterback Russell Wilson.
Defensive line (-180) actually has better odds than the quarterback. This could also be a spot for a trade down, especially if one of the top quarterbacks falls in the draft.
