NFL Week 4 Odds: Bettors Buying Hot Starts by Miami and Cleveland

What will the Dolphins do for an encore? Score, score, score!

Is C.J. Stroud for real? The betting public seems to think so. Despite a 1-2 start, the Houston Texans are moving in the right direction on the NFL Week 4 odds board. Look no further than the Texans’ phenom quarterback.

With that in mind, let’s break down some other big movers ahead of Sunday’s action.

Date & Time:
Opening Line: Steelers -4.5
Current Line: Steelers -2.5

C.J. Stroud has made a quick impression for Houston. Through three games, Stroud, the No. 2 pick in April’s draft, has passed for 906 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also gone his first 121 attempts without throwing an interception. His 906 yards are the third-most by an NFL quarterback in his first three games, behind only Cam Newton (1,012) and Justin Herbert (931).

As such, the accolades are beginning to pour in. Stroud was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie for the Month for September, and he now owns the second-best odds (+380) for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, trailing Falcons running back Bijan Robinson (+300).

While the Texans are still only 1-2 (1-2 ATS), bettors are starting to buy into Stroud’s impressive start. They’re now down to 2.5-point underdogs at home.

Date & Time:
Opening Line: Over 49.5
Current Line: Over 53.5

Miami’s offense reached new heights in Week 3, erupting for 70 points in a blowout of the Denver Broncos. The Dolphins set a franchise record for scoring and finished two points shy of the NFL’s regular season record of 72, set by Washington in 1966. They’re the fourth team to hit the 70-point mark in a game. As such, they’ve positioned themselves among the NFL favorites.

The Dolphins now lead the NFL in several offensive statistical categories, including yards per game (550.3) and points (130). They’re 3-0 ATS and have gone Over the total in four of their last six games dating to last season.

Buffalo’s offense is quite good, too. The Bills are coming off back-to-back 30-point efforts. This is now projected to be the highest-scoring matchup of the week.

Day/Time:
Opening Line: Colts +1.5
Current Line: Even

After opening as a 1.5-point underdog, Indianapolis is now even money (-110) to beat Los Angeles on the NFL Week 4 odds board. This line shift is likely a reflection of Anthony Richardson’s improved status. The rookie first-rounder is on track to return under center after sitting out Week 3 with a concussion.

Richardson practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday, per the NFL injury report today. While head coach Shane Steichen has yet to deem him available for Sunday, Richardson is certainly moving in the right direction. That bodes well for the surprising 2-1 Colts.

Ravens logo Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns Browns logo

Day/Time:
Opening Line: Browns +1.5
Current Line: Browns -2.5

Is it time to buy in to Cleveland? The Browns have gone from 1.5-point underdogs to 2.5-point favorites over their AFC North rivals. According to football odds, The teams are now +200 co-favorites in the divisionfootball odds.

Cleveland has been outstanding defensively under new coordinator Jim Schwartz. The Browns have yet to allow a touchdown through two games at home. They’ve also given up the fewest yards in the NFL (163.7 per game). Baltimore, which is coming off an overtime loss to Indianapolis, could be in for a long day.

Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers Panthers logo

Day/Time:
Opening Line: Panthers +2.5
Current Line: Panthers +4.5

After missing Week 3 with an ankle injury, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young looks poised to return. Still, Carolina remains far from healthy. Running back Miles Sanders and receivers DJ Chark and Jonathan Mingo were limited at practice Thursday.

This is a prime bounce-back opportunity for the Vikings, whose season is on the line at 0-3.
