The Worst Teams Per the NFL Win-Loss 2023 Odds: Bet Against These Scrubs?
Teams Lined to Have Fewest Regular Season Wins & Points

Cardinals Ready to Tank Like an NBA Team
The Arizona Cardinals are here to prove that “tanking”, losing on purpose, in the NFL is real. This team has already started letting go of some of its best players while keeping Kyler Murray, its star quarterback, on the injury list. Thus, the NFL Win-Loss 2023 odds show Arizona as the favorite when it comes to having the fewest wins and points.
Fewest Wins in 2023: The NFL’s Biggest Losers
The Cardinals are in for a potentially historic losing season this 2023. Could they be the first team to go 0-17? You can bet on that at 12-1, which is significantly shorter than the next teams: Indianapolis and Houston at 35-1. That’s how bad Arizona is expected to be. But they’re not alone. There are a few other “contenders” to have the fewest wins per the NFL Win-Loss 2023 odds:
Arizona Cardinals +150
Houston Texans +700
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: +800
Los Angeles Rams: +900
Washington Commanders +900
Las Vegas Raiders +1000
Indianapolis Colts +1000
There are two NFC West teams in Arizona and the Rams and two in the AFC South in Houston and Indianapolis. Six of the seven teams here also had losing records last year and Washington, the only one that did not, was only 8-8-1.
Arizona is kicking off its rebuild in emphatic fashion and most of these other teams are either in one (Houston and Indianapolis) or headed for one (Washington, Tampa Bay, and the Rams). The Raiders are interesting because this team believes it’s a contender. But the team is held together by sticks and bubble gum and things can unravel quickly.
Additionally, most of these teams have a rookie or journeyman quarterback leading them. Thus, several of them will put up poor NFL QB stats and also be in the running to finish 2023 with the fewest points scored.
Fewest Points Scored in 2023: It’s a Desert of an Offense Here
Woohoo! Arizona is on top again. Someone ought to make a parlay of the Cardinals finishing with the fewest wins, scoring the fewest points, and being the last winless team in the NFL. That could be one of the best bets this 2023. But the odds here are a bit more wide open given just how potentially atrocious these other teams are:
Arizona Cardinals +450
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +900
Washington Commanders +1000
Indianapolis Colts +1100
Green Bay Packers: +1100
Houston Texans +1300
Tennessee Titans +1300
Los Angeles Rams: +1400
Carolina Panthers +1400
Nearly all the teams listed on the worst NFL Win-Loss 2023 records are here for obvious reasons. Only Las Vegas (+2200) is expected to have a decent offense. And as mentioned, these teams have quarterbacks that are likely to rank in the bottom 10 of the NFL.
The Rams are “sus” on this list as their quarterback, Matthew Stafford is a Super Bowl champion and twice hit the 40-touchdown mark. He’s coming off an elbow injury but will also have a healthier Cooper Kupp, the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year, back at his disposal.
Indianapolis, Green Bay, Houston, and Carolina all have newish quarterbacks and/or new coaching staffs. It’s unknown just how bad (or good) their offenses truly will be.
Unexpectedly Ugly: Top Teams Who Could Be Really Bad This 2023
The Rams and Broncos were unexpectedly terrible last year. The teams had expected regular-season win totals at 10.5. But both did not even hit half of that due to a myriad of reasons either through injuries or inept coaching. This ill fate could befall a few unlucky teams not already listed above.
The first team that comes to mind are the Los Angeles Chargers. Just like the Raiders, the Chargers are not that well put-together. The team boasts plenty of talent on paper but its execution could make it terrible on the NFL point spreads. Head coach Brandon Staley could get axed before the season ends and one injury to Justin Herbert, the star QB, could mean a terrible season.
Over to the NFC, the Minnesota Vikings are expected to have a bad regression. The team won 13 games but had a negative point differential. They also had one of the worst records on the NFL spreads at 7-10-1. The Vikings are also old and got worse during the offseason. Meanwhile, its division rivals are young and got better. This team could be in for a disastrous 2023.
