2023 NFL Week 2 Schedule With Spreads

Week 2 Settles in and BANG, Surprises!

The opening week of the 2023 NFL season had some good games. But the 2023 NFL Week 2 matchups look pretty solid in their own right. There are a number of games expected to be close, with just two games having a point spread higher than 4.5. Here is the NFL Week 2 schedule with spreads.

Vikings logo Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles Eagles logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Philadelphia -6
Moneyline: Philadelphia -250

The Vikings and the Eagles kick-off Week 2 in a battle between NFL playoff teams from last year. The Vikings aren’t getting much respect from the sportsbook or bettors and are catching quite a few points here. Still, the Vikings are due for a regression this season and the Eagles will be a good test to see where the team really stands.

The Eagles are one of the larger NFL Week 2 favorites and want to show that last season wasn’t a fluke. If Minnesota’s pass defense isn’t better than last season, it could be a long night for the men in purple.

Packers logo Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons Falcons logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Atlanta -1
Moneyline: Atlanta -115

The Green Bay Packers take to the road for the second straight week. The Falcons were No. 23 in the NFL last year in passing yards allowed, which is ideal for Jordan Love. Green Bay is going to be down a bit this year and could be a little overpriced.

Atlanta plays its second straight home game to open the season. But the NFL Week 2 betting trends show that hasn’t been an advantage. Week 2 NFL home teams are 47-51-2 (48%) against the spread when playing at home in back-to-back weeks. If these teams are favored for the second straight week, the record falls to 21-26 (44.7%) ATS.

Chargers logo Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans Titans logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Los Angeles -3.5
Moneyline: Los Angeles -180

The Chargers play the first of two consecutive road games, visiting Tennessee. Los Angeles hosted Miami in its opener. If the Chargers win and cover the spread against the Dolphins, the Titans could be one of your best NFL Week 2 bets. Week 2 road favorites, who covered the spread in Week 1 as a home favorite, are just 33-50 (39.8%) against the number.

The Titans are still trying to remain competitive instead of undergoing a full rebuild. Several veterans, such as Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill, were expected to be moved, but Tennessee’s offseason moves looks like the team is giving it one more try with the old guard.

Raiders logo Las Vegas Raiders at Buffalo Bills Bills logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Buffalo -8
Moneyline: Buffalo -360

The Buffalo Bills are going to be a popular NFL Week 2 survivor pick and also be used in a lot of teasers if the point spread holds at Bills -8. Jimmy Garoppolo won’t make as many big plays as Derek Carr at quarterback, but he won’t make some of the big mistakes, either.

The Bills are coming off the Week 1 Monday night game, but playing in front of the home fans for the first time this season should help keep the motivation up. Buffalo is better on both sides of the ball. If the intensity is there, the Bills shouldn’t have any problem getting the win here.

Bears logo Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Buccaneers logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Chicago -1.5
Moneyline: Chicago -120

There’s a huge drop-off from Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield. But it’s still debatable if the Bears deserve to be road favorites in this game. Chicago had a nice offseason, but this is still a Chicago team that was 3-14 straight-up and 5-11-1 against the spread a season ago.

After opening the season at Minnesota, the Bucs head back to Tampa for their home opener. The Bucs may not have Brady, but they have a few weapons on offense and the defense can hold its own. Tampa Bay is definitely worth a look in a teaser for one of your NFL Week 2 betting plays.

Seahawks logo Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions Lions logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Detroit -2.5
Moneyline: Detroit -140

The Seahawks take to the road to face the Detroit Lions, who are the default favorites in the NFC North. But like most teams in the division, Detroit isn’t without its warts. Which in the Lions’ case is defense. Detroit was No. 30 in pass defense last year, allowing 4,179 yards and 26 touchdowns.

The Seahawks tied for fourth with 30 touchdown passes and could take advantage of Detroit’s secondary. But the Lions were seventh in passing offense and 11th in rushing and Seattle’s rush defense left a bit to be desired a year ago. This one should see plenty of points and one of the NFL Week 2 stat leaders could very well come from this game.

Colts logo Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans Texans logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Houston -1
Moneyline: Houston -115

A look at the NFL Week 2 lines shows this is going to be a rare favorite role for the Texans in 2023. Houston simply isn’t that good of a football team. The last time the Texans were favored was Nov. 28, 2021 against the New York Jets. They lost 21-14.

Gardner Minshew may give the Colts the best chance to win now. But there’s no question Anthony Richardson is the team’s quarterback of the future. Week 2 away underdogs are 45-35-1 (56.2%) if they lost in Week 1 as a home underdog, so the Colts are worth a look if they fall to Jacksonville to start the season.

Ravens logo Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals Bengals logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Cincinnati -3.5
Moneyline: Cincinnati -180

The Bengals host the Ravens in a solid AFC North matchup and the NFL Week 2 betting odds have the Bengals -3.5. The two teams finished 1-2 last year, with the Bengals coming out on top. The home team won all three meetings between the two last year, with Cincinnati winning in the playoffs. All four teams in the division were 3-3.

Baltimore is a better running team and the Bengals have a better passing attack. Cincinnati was decent against the run last year, and gets a slight edge here. The Ravens will be playing with a bit of revenge after being eliminated by the Bengals, but these teams are rivals whenever they play. So the revenge angle shouldn’t be much of a factor.

Chiefs logoKansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars Jaguars logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Kansas City -3
Moneyline: Kansas City -150

A rematch of last year’s playoffs, the NFL Week 2 opening odds seem a little light on Kansas City at -3. The Chiefs are still one of the public teams in the NFL, while the Jaguars fly under the radar. Even though Jacksonville made the playoffs last year, the jury is still out on the team. The Jags were just 9-8, but did go 8-4 against the AFC.

Kansas City is going to be one of the best teams in the league once again. Patrick Mahomes could have a big day against a porous Jacksonville pass defense. Trevor Lawrence has gotten better, but you really don’t want to ask him to match Mahomes pass for pass.

49ers logo San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams Rams logo

Date & Time:
Odds: San Francisco -4.5
Moneyline: San Francisco -205

The Los Angeles Rams ended the 2022 season banged-up and in disarray. If the Rams come into the 2023 season healthy, they could surprise a few people. The 49ers are hopeful to have Brock Purdy back for the start of the season. Trey Lance probably gets the start if he can’t go, although Sam Darnold could win the backup job in training camp.

The NFL Week 2 spread could be a bit on the high side here depending on the Rams’ health and the 49ers quarterback situation. The Rams aren’t getting a lot of attention this offseason, but this team was the Super Bowl champion just two years ago. Teams taking the Rams lightly on the basis of last year could be asking for trouble.

Giants logo New York Giants at Arizona Cardinals Cardinals logo

Date & Time:
Odds: New York -4
Moneyline: New York -195

Arizona figures to be bad, but is it this bad? Despite making the playoffs, the Giants had a negative scoring margin a year ago. They could be a little better this season, but laying four points on the road in the NFL isn’t a recipe for success. Last season, road favorites of four or more points were just 13-28-1 against the spread. Arizona was 2-2 as a home underdog of four or more points.

The NFL Week 2 betting lines have seven road favorites on the schedule. Road favorites really struggled last season, going 43-57-3 (43%). Just as surprising is that in games where the road team was favored, totals were 33-67-3 (33%). Games in which the home team was favored were 88-88.

Commanders logoWashington Commanders at Denver Broncos Broncos logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Denver -3.5
Moneyline: Denver -170

The Denver Broncos still have to prove last year was an anomaly, especially Russell Wilson, who was just brutal after signing a big contract with the Broncos. Washington’s defense will be a good test for Denver. The Commanders allowed the third-fewest points in the NFC last year.

Denver’s defense finally wore down during the stretch last season. The Broncos simply left them on the field too long and asked the defense to do too much. Denver drew the Raiders in its opening game and Las Vegas is nothing special on defense, Washington is. The NFL Week 2 over under predictions have this game slated as a possible under play once the totals are released.

Jets logo New York Jets at Dallas Cowboys Cowboys logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Dallas -2.5
Moneyline: Dallas -135

The Jets are getting a little too much credit for the Aaron Rodgers signing and are overpriced a little bit here. Dallas is simply a better football team and playing at home. The Jets are solid defensively, as only Buffalo and Baltimore allowed fewer in the AFC. But Dallas is no slouch in that department. The Cowboys allowed the second-fewest points in the NFC a year ago.

In a game with some big-name offensive stars, such as Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, it may be hard to pull the trigger on the under. But that could be the way to go based on what the defenses did last year. It won’t be a popular pick, but the NFL Week 2 bold predictions have this game lower-scoring than expected.

Dolphins logo Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots Patriots logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Miami -2.5
Moneyline: Miami -130

The Sunday night game could be a good one, as AFC East rivals Miami and New England meet in Foxboro. There has been plenty of preseason talk about the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. You’ve seldom heard a word about the Patriots and that’s when Bill Belichick is at his most dangerous. The Patriots are 14-8 as a home underdog under Belichick, but were 0-3 in 2022.

The Patriots were 8-9 last season, missing the playoffs by one game. Mac Jones took a step backwards, throwing only 14 TDs and was intercepted 11 times. You need a better TD to interception ratio from your quarterback. Of all the NFL Week 2 spreads, this is one of the more conducive to a teaser by taking the Pats +8.5.

Saints logo New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers Panthers logo

Date & Time:
Odds: New Orleans -1
Moneyline: New Orleans -115

The first of two Monday games, this one will be used in a lot of NFL Week 2 parlay picks, as bettors parlays and tease the two games. The Saints and Panthers both finished 7-10 in the NFC South, as Carolina won both games between the two NFL teams. The Panthers finished 4-2 in division play.

The big question here is will Bryce Young play? That’s a good guess right now, as the Panthers may wait to see how he performs in the preseason before committing to him early in the season. He’ll be the starter at some point this season, but perhaps not here. The Panthers have Andy Dalton, who has seen his best days, but he’s still a competent QB and should be a boost to Young’s learning.

Browns logo Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers Steelers logo

Date & Time:
Odds: Pittsburgh -1
Moneyline: Pittsburgh -115

Few teams seem to get more out of less talent than the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even when it looks as though the Steelers are going to have a rough season, they pick up some unexpected wins and are in the playoff hunt. Kenny Pickett wasn’t bad in his first season as Pittsburgh’s quarterback. He had some big shoes to fill and held his own.

The Browns have been spending money freely to try and improve the team. In addition to giving Deshaun Watson a boatload of money, Cleveland threw $57 million at Dalvin Tomlinson and $19 million at Ogbonnia Okoronkwo to help the defense. These two division rivals split last year’s games, with the home squad winning each time. It’s probably going to be more of the same in 2023, so take Pittsburgh as one of your NFL Week 2 picks ATS.
