Oddsmaker NFL Power Rankings Betting: Week 5 is Crowded at the Top
Several Contenders Make Moves

Last week, it was a rule of three. Now, Miami and Detroit ride big wins to make it a crowd in the top tier of our latest oddsmaker NFL power rankings of betting. We kept the tier system the way it was from Week 4, as there have been no significant changes. However, we will point out the teams whose wins or losses moved them up or down the NFL standings.
NFL Teams on How Rich (or Poor) They’ve Made You
Five weeks in the books, and we have a clear picture of which teams have been making bettors money… or not. As such, expect the latest NFL lines to trend toward the top two tiers here, while the bottom tier will continue to get underdog odds (for the most part).
Top Tier: The Millionaire Makers
Five weeks in, only San Francisco and Philadelphia remain undefeated. But no team is unbeaten on the spread, and the closest you’ll come to perfection will be in San Fran. Wins by Detroit and Miami put them close to perfection, and going 4-1 on the spread is a stellar win percentage. Tampa Bay was on a bye and stays a tier above Seattle due to its success as an underdog.
San Francisco 49ers (5-0; 4-1 ATS)
Philadelphia Eagles (5-0; 3-1-1 ATS)
Detroit Lions (4-1; 4-1 ATS)
Miami Dolphins (4-1; 4-1 ATS)
Tampa Bay Buccanneers (3-1; 3-1 ATS)
Makin’ Money Tier: Getting It Done in Some Way
We were tempted to move the Seahawks up a tier. But they can head this group that is still making backers money, even if it’s not too much. The Jaguars moved up here thanks to upsetting the Bills in London. Most of the teams here are typically NFL favorites. The Rams stand out as a losing team consistently beating their spread.
Seattle Seahawks (3-1; 3-1 ATS)
Kansas City Chiefs (4-1; 3-2 ATS)
Indianapolis Colts (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Dallas Cowboys (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Buffalo Bills (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Baltimore Ravens (3-2; 3-2 ATS)
Los Angeles Rams (2-3; 3-1-1 ATS)
Underdog Tier: Dogs Got Their Days
The underdog group graduated a few NFL teams up the NFL Power Rankings of betting. Indianapolis’s and Pittsburgh’s wins put them in winning forms. But some of the teams are still profitable even with losing records thanks to cashing as underdogs on the moneyline. They also have identical spread records with most of the teams above.
Houston Texans (2-3; 3-2 ATS)
Tennessee Titans (2-3; 3-2 ATS)
Green Bay Packers (2-3; 3-2 ATS)
Arizona Cardinals (1-4; 3-2 ATS)
Bleh Tier: Barely Even or Losing Money
Just below is a mishmash of teams. They have different records and are trending in different ways. Chicago, Cincinnati and Las Vegas all moved up thanks to much-needed wins while Washington is in danger of falling to the bottom tier with its losing skid. Regardless, these teams are still in the red as far as the NFL Power Rankings of betting is concerned.
New Orleans Saints (3-2; 1-3-1 ATS)
Los Angeles Chargers (2-2; 2-2 ATS)
Cleveland Browns (2-2; 2-2 ATS)
New York Jets (2-3; 3-2 ATS)
Atlanta Falcons (3-2; 1-4 ATS)
Cincinnati Bengals (2-3; 1-3-1 ATS)
Chicago Bears (1-4; 1-3-1 ATS)
Washington Commanders (2-3; 2-3 ATS)
Las Vegas Raiders (2-3; 2-3 ATS)
Worst Tier: The Bankroll Burners
The losers of the group. These teams stink, no matter how you put it. Carolina, in particular, is the only team that has yet to score a win on either the moneyline or spread. And New England is stinking up current NFL scores with an offense that is approaching historically bad levels.
Minnesota Vikings (1-4; 1-3-1 ATS)
New England Patriots (1-4; 1-4 ATS)
Denver Broncos (1-4; 0-4-1 ATS)
New York Giants (1-4; 0-5 ATS)
Carolina Panthers (0-5; 0-4-1 ATS)
